Yoimiya is best paired with a Jean of at least C4, C6 Bennett, and someone that spits ice off screen like Ganyu.

I prefer this event over windtrace. Quick one and done and it can be forgotten.

Plus competitive anything always sucks ass.

ive done the main quests plus the events. But really not feeling the rest of it. I might force myself to go out and find some quests but this time around it kinda just sucks imo

I usually like exploring but I don't like the 'turn each island to one of several configurations' stuff, just feels tedious. Haven't finished Fischl's or XY's islands yet.

Xinyan's is the most straightforward thankfully

I'm currently on Fischl mandatory story domain and I already hate this lining-up 'puzzle'.

I took my time to cheat out one with Zhongli + Kazuha.

Is it just me or does Yoimiya straight-up feel bad in her trial? Why did they make it that way? Surely she isn't actually that bad.

Yoimiya is a b button mash char.
There is literally no fun to be found in her kit whatsoever other than big pp numbers and the team rotation.

She has the benefit of having separate, useful skill and burst abilities, while Yoi's skill just unlocks her normals and her burst is a fucking mess. Also, I love sniper playstyles, having to actually aim makes it more fun to me.

It's weird because people were really talking her up as being some kind of sleeper OP main DPS in the way that Kazuha was the sleeper OP Sub/Support last year.

It's pretty clear based on my testing that she's way too simple for a 5-star and her damage, while totally fine, isn't good enough to justify such a limited kit.

Who? Yoimiya? She was okay. It's only after all the indirect buffs Mihoyo gave her that she started doing great boss killer dps.
I still consider her a broken character that needs to be fixed (like some ability on burst that lets arrows jump to a second victim)

Yeah but the thing I can't understand is why they made a single target pyro hypercarry main DPS with an infusion skill and a nuke ult... after making Hu Tao.

And especially since Yoimiya's damage ceiling is nowhere near Hu Tao's.

Childe remains the most fun character to play to me, both in overworld and abyss. I think I'm done denying it and will be taking him to lv 90 just because of that which was previously reserved only for waifus. Comrade deserves it (plus he literally has the same birthday as me lol)

Oh for sure. Childe's by far my favorite character. Every single Abyss I've done for a year has had one side with Childe International.

It helps that Childe International's damage is absolutely ludicrous

Yoimiya was likely intended to be something very different. Her awful burst and useless charge shot, the way her skill disables her charge shot (?), something just feels off. Incomplete.

But then they got too focused on redoing Ayaka coz her original beta kit was power crept to death, almost Keqing-tier garbage. They also had to work on Sayu that update and isn't that also very close to the time when they rushed out Aloy?

See Tighnari's abilities? I feel like this is closer to what Yoimiya's charge shot might have been, but they never got to implementing the speed charge.

...speaking of sped up charged shots. Did you also notice that nowadays Mihoyo does it quite frequently? I'm enjoying it A LOT on Yelan and am feeling tempted to try Tighnari if he ruins my 50% roll or sneaks into my Collei banner rolls.

They don't really fill similar roles.

Childe is the best on-field enabler DPS in the game, by a wide margin. He applies hydro so quickly that basically any off field elemental SUB DPS gets 100% reaction coverage with hydro (which is why he's idiotically good with Xiangling, whose pyronado also has no internal cooldown for vape). He also has an unusually strong and cheap Ult.

The funny thing is that everyone was convinced Ayato power crept him because his on-field DPS (without reactions) is slightly higher. The problem is that Ayato kinda sucks as an enabler and his team synergy is mediocre. His ult is just crap, too. So Ayato winds up having Xiao Syndrome, where their on-field damage is great, but they just aren't all that great in the actual meta because that's now how Genshin is designed.

I've been trying to get Yelan artifacts since before she came out and Raiden Shogun even longer.

Kokomi is fine at C0 and first constels are weak.
Ganyu has weak constellations at start so I stay at C0.
I'm not sure which of them I'll try for Dori unlock. Kokomi C1 means I don't have to dash or jump cancel at all anymore, Ganyu C1 gives extra damage and energy.

Now the real question is, do I roll the Collei banner with risk of Tighnari (permanent char) or risk Zhongli (permanent bench char)?
I'm more on Dendro Yelan's side right now, but Nahida will totally power creep the shit out of him.

Wait till we get to see how bullshit Tighnari's confusion is.
Knowing Nahida's theme is "dreams" (and we've seen in Golden Apple how ridiculous the machine borrowing a small part of her power was), you can bet she will have an insane CC in her kit

Zhongli is still one of my best and favorite characters. Has basically never left my team.

Awesome, I need a Kokomi. Then its back to saving for Nahida or Yae constellations.

Venti is a very poorly designed character and MHY still hasn't figured out a way to make him both useful and not completely broken.

Whenever he CAN be used, he's basically Thanos + all the Infinity Stones, and it's frankly kind of stupid.

The problem is that if they make him totally useless (IE - 90% of Inazuma), it makes people mad because they rolled on him and now he's useless.

Serpent Spine is generally better than WGS on most characters IF they're running with Bennett. Otherwise, WGS is slightly better.

WGS is the really good claymore for nearly all situations.

If nothing else, it is a wonderful stat stick.

Low base ATK (for a 5-star at least) with ATK% substat is problematic if you're running that character with Bennett. Bennett shifts the ATK / damage curve in favor of a high base ATK weapon with crit substats or damage percentage buffs (Serpent Spine, basically)

Without Bennett, WGS is the clear winner though.

I just now realized that the final animation of Childe's ranged normal is just him giving up and throwing the arrow because he hates bows

Its also the hardest hitting part of his normal combo.

Wasnt there something about Childe using a bow because its the only weapon he hasnt mastered yet and he feels the need to practice or something?
