Every boss has its weaknesses and set patterns
It'd be fine, if there was a narrative reason for it (IE Samus' condition deteriorating for insert reason or enemies narratively getting stronger in relation to a baseline Samus)

But how the game portrays Samus' abilities and upgrades, the ever increasing damage conflicts(at best) with what you're supposed to be understanding (Samus got a defensive/offensive upgrade, Samus got more health, etc) and even nareatively Adam implies that while you may not be ready to face Raven Beak, you are still getting stronger.

It just creates a weird, stressed divide between portrayal of a character and your actual experience as the player.

And they could have utilized the changing of Samus' DNA as a narrative tool, especially once the X are released. Could have written in that while Metroids were they natural predators of the X, when in the presence of a Metroid, an X will grow more vicious/dangerous as a defensive measure and utilize that as a narrative tool to explain the ever increasing damage you're taking.

It just feels like they could've handled it a bit better than "mOrE cHaLlEnGe GuYz"

I mean there is a reason why you get liberal checkpoints in this game instead of being sent back to save stations. It is so you can try again and feel out what you are supposed to do. I thought all of the bosses were fair even though I died a fair amount of times my first playthrough. Second playthrough I barely died to them.

Found them all on my own, only looked up a couple shine puzzles to make sure I was starting in the right place. Did learn about the 'maintain shine/boost' from that but I also found a puzzle out of order, I think.

It was more stuff I didn't know you could do, like the running up sliding ledges to maintain/regain boost. One of the puzzles actually implies this very hard so if I had found that puzzle first I wouldn't have looked up the other puzzle

And a couple, I understood the shine puzzles, just wanted to confirm I was doing the right thing and not shoving square peg into round hole

Plasma beam has higher dps than Storm Missiles, and you dont need to charge it after you get Plasma to hurt bosses

Congratulations on beating the game!

On the subject of bosses, some of them are capable of being taken down in one hit depending on if you fulfill certain criteria. Can be rather satisfying revenge for all the grief they put you through.

But it's cool if you're one and done. What did you think about the game overall?

The Robot Chozo Soldier boss alone is enough to not want to play the game again.

The one in Ghavoran is fought in a room where you can't just loop him around in a circle to keep away from him, and as a result I found him to be the most difficult boss in the game. Even on replays, he kicks my ass most of the time and I've only just ever barely won. It's the one fight that discourages me from ever trying the game on hard.

At the very least, you can deal severe damage to one of them even if you can't get a second charge afterwards.

I've never been good at the Speed Booster / Shine Spark stuff, but I do like how useful it is in several boss fights.

I also have yet to play my Switch in Docked Mode.

I waited to post this to avoid potential spoilers, but my only gripe with the game was the recycled bosses. How many times did I really need to fight the same Chozo Warrior boss/miniboss or whatever it is? It got old pretty quick.
