Sorry I get a bit jaded around these releases.
I'm not getting the game but I hope you enjoy it. From what I've seen the game has been available for the past few days and everything has already been spoiled. I The first 5 times the community did this to me I was pretty pissed off, now it's just expected.

That being said the fact that they already have several DLC mons prepared is pretty crappy of them.

Although Pokemon fans love to spoil things. I do not belong to any Pokemon communities but the neoliberal subreddit of all places spoiled me on the conclusion of Ash vs Leon.

Spoiler whiners really are the worst.

I've put about 10 hours into scarlet and having fun just exploring and trying to catch things I have no business catching. I really enjoy how the box legendary is handled too.

I've been playing Pokemon White 2 since its one I've never played before. I connected the game to a spoofed network just to get all the event Pokemon, but I'm not using them. It's just to have them. Anyway, have 6 badges. I always heard this one was one of the harder Pokemon games but so far I'm not really feeling that? I'm enjoying it though.

I'm thinking about learning how to actually do competitive battling. I've never really been into that aspect of Pokemon. I know enough to get through the main quests just fine. Type match ups and all that. For me it was always about the collecting, and completing the Pokedex, and in recent years shiny hunting.

Just play Pokemon showdown. Playing random battle has taught me more about competitive battling than I could ever find out in my own.

Regarding shiny hunting: Yes you can see shiny forms outside of battle. No, there is NO shiny animation/sound outside of battle like in PLA.

It still doesn't look like Gamestop has shipped my game. I'm scared. Normally I would have bought it on Amazon, but I couldn't find the double pack on Amazon. >_>

In my experience, they usually ship a day or two before. At least when I ordered God of War, it shipped Tuesday and was delivered on Wednesday afternoon. I have Prime though so I dont know if that changes anything.

I'm buying it on launch day. I didn't want to wait until the 26th to get the game in the mail. I'll be working overnight so I can get to Walmart at opening. Walmart typically doesn't stock electronic stuff before they open the store.

I'm getting Violet!

At first, I was hesitant. I don't like the concept of playing as a young school child, but then I had part of the game spoiled for me, and the spoiler is what made me want to scoop up a copy.

The Violet mascot looks cooler than the Scarlet one, too.

Also holy smokes, it's been forever since I've been to PotD. Definitely seeing a couple of familiar names in this thread alone! <3

Oh this is joyous news. My game shipped. It's supposed to arrive Saturday morning, maybe Friday night. But one problem. In the middle of a blizzard right now, it's supposed to snow for like the next 24 hours or more. So might not get to play it until next week.

Well amazon shipped it and it's still due by the end of the day tomorrow *shrug* we'll see I'm just not sure if 1 day shipping will go well in November.

I think it's the same at every place. Walmart also said it would give the potions for Scarlet. Violet is supposedly some cosmetic backpack.

So word on the street is the game's visuals and performance are extremely poor. That's pretty unfortunate. If any IP can afford to put in the money to make their games as good as possible, it's Pokemon. BotW is almost 6 years old and it runs and looks better than SV. There's really no excuse for this. The community better make a big big stink about this until GF gets their heads out of their asses and release a massive performance patch or something. Apparently a big part of the problem is the game loads the entire world all at once. Instead of, you know, loading it in chunks and using low res LoDs for everything. Like how every open world game of the past 15+ years has done.

in fact, you can very easily tell that a large chunk of the performance issues are the game loading in the higher resolution assets for things by just like, running around and watching it do it. i will say that some of the clips i've seen of super egregious loading issues i never experienced and mostly just looked like people were using slow ass sd cards. not that that excuses anything, just that something like this
