Here's the issue with what you just said. Yes, he has a lot of money, but many of the worlds issues aren't caused by lack of money. Sure that's one part of it, but you take countries in Africa for example, the extreme politics of some of those countries are what cause them to be so impoverish. Those issues have to be solved before money issues need to be addressed.

In other words, you can't fill a bucket with water if there is a giant hole at the bottom.

I don't think the entirety of Musk's net worth would make a long term dent in most global issues. There's also the fact that most global issues cannot be solved with just money. Now, that's not to say he shouldn't be paying way, way more in taxes. It's just that the "take from billionaires" thing isn't really something that could just magically solve all world issues.

I believe some place posted a tweet to the effect of "We could end world hunger for X billion dollars" and Elon tweeted them and said "ok, how?" and it legitimately seemed like he was open to the idea if they had an actual plan.

They kinda fumbled and eventually were like "we could probably feed most people for a year with that amount" and then just trailed off.

If you come up with a plan that would end a huge global problem for a 1B or less price tag, I legitimately believe Elon would do it. Unfortunately most "we could end a major world problem for X money" people don't have clear plans of action that have any reason we'd expect them to work.

Not only is that not what the original tweet said. But the did provide a receipt and plan for how it would avoid global famine in 2022, offered to chat with Musk in more detail if he wanted to go over the finer points of their plan. He just ignored it. Guy is a huge grifter

What? Because most issues cannot be solved through launching money at them, and because the amount of money it would take even if you could is beyond the scope of their net worth. We should definitely be closing tax loopholes to make sure they're paying their fair share, but it's not like they're somehow gatekeeping a better world just by accumulating money.

Youd be shocked by how many problems can be resolved by throwing money at it.

And I would definitely prefer it going to something worthwhile.

Plus it would amuse me if when Trickle Down economics were to actually happen it was because Democrats made billonaires pay to end world hunger.

Not anything we'd consider a worldwide problem. To solve world hunger, we'd need to completely revamp the governments of a number of countries. That's typically frowned upon. Just getting basic food to people is ultimately just a minor stopgap. You need to fix the conditions causing the mass starvation to actually solve the issue.

Problem is you're barking up the wrong tree on the world hunger issue. There are issues with billionaires not paying their fair share due to their money influencing tax loopholes, but they're not cockblocking everyone in the world being fed. They simply have no correlation.

No the problem is you going on about money somehow not being able to buy food.

If you buy food, you create jobs and trade. You reduce hunger.

And if the money comes from billionaires who have the resources to hide their wealth and not pay taxes like everyone else, so much the better.

At this point I'm over pointing out the financial issues. I'm fucking sick of the modern left's logic of: The exitence of billionaires should exempt us from having to do our best for the world. I don't see any of you saying Musk could solve world hunger volunteering with me at the food bank.
