What's your personal limit? Obviously sometimes traffic flow dictates higher/lower but if you're out driving with no real traffic, how fast are you actually going in a 75, CE?

Once the speed limit hits 60mph, Im comfortable going 10-15 over, so long as its part of the flow of traffic. Im not gonna weave in and out of lanes to maintain a higher speed.

75 is too fast for me.

Depends on which stretch of highway I'm on. We have several places where this is reality, and each has different local protocol and terrain allowances

I usually hover around 4 mph above the speed limit, so 79, in this case. Much less likely to get pulled over at those speeds.

I'd only feel comfortable driving that fast or over the limit if (for some reason) the road was empty/a straight highway with others going that fast

Around here 75 is usually the posted limit for rural expressway cruising where there's barely any cars and it's just a straight shot. So I'm, and most non-truck traffic honestly, is going to be in the 85+ zone.

I never drive higher than 85 or so

depends on the highway. i mean like if this is middle of the desert completely empty highway, higher than normal.

if it's busy city highway, then just a bit over with stretches of faster or slower depending.

My general rule for Speed Limits is don't exceed the listed Speed Limit by more than 25%.

Won't do it in cities for hopefully obvious reasons

All it takes is a small crack/pothole on the freeway to fuck up someone's wheel...
while traveling at that speed to completely wreck a fast moving vehicle

I always go 10 over on the interstate and no more, and I NEVER exceed 90.

speed limit is there for a reason. not for safety, but for policy to fine you when you go over it. it is never acceptable to get angry at someone for going at the speed limit or slightly below it, even in a so called "fast lane"

I use the 18% rule. My max speed is 18% more than the posted speed.

75 > 89
25 > 29
55 > 65
65 > 77

I've never seen a speed limit sign go above 75 but my general rule of thumb is to not go more than 9mph over. Last I checked the ticket and corresponding fine has a new tier once you're past 10 mph over in my state.

I've not been pulled over since 2008 or so.

$252 for 21 over, no super speeder.

Slow drivers literally cause more accidents than speeders, get your fucking speed up.

Cruise control goes on 75.

Flow of traffic up to 85. If I'm still slower than traffic, I go to the right lane so as to not cause an accident.

On a 3+ lane, I get in the lane moving the speed I want.

Slower traffic causes more accidents. Period.

tell that to the judge, or become my chauffeur and drive me everywhere. Im not risking getting a fine and losing my licence because someone else wanted to drive fast. Obviously its safer but that doesnt matter to the police

Its not safer at all, you're definitely still a hazard if you're driving slower than the flow of traffic, thats on you

you misread my post. obviously its safer to drive faster. that doesn't matter to the police, and its on the police for forcing me to drive slow at risk of fines or loss of licence. and nobody is allowed to blame me for not wanting to get fined or lose my licence, especially not you

Depending on the lane you're in, you could get pulled over for going slower than the flow of traffic, even if you are going the speed limit.

If traffic is flowing at 80 and you're traveling at 75 a cop will pull you over into a slower lane and likely give you at least a warning for traveling in the left lane.

Dont drive, but if i did id probably aim for 70-75

IE: Right around, maybe a bit under.

I always drive 5-10 over the speed limit, unless there's a camera there. Everyone does. Hell, even couple cops blazed past me, and their sirens sure as hell weren't on.

if you're travelling 5 over the speed limit you'll get a $100-$200 fine and 1 demerit point. the legal system absolutely does not care about safety in this case, hence why i call this shit revenue raising

People think the speed limit is a guideline when it's called a limit for a reason. Justice has to be served.

Flow of traffic but not exceeding 10 mph over the speed limit. Less if I'm in MO instead of KS as the speeding laws are less favorable there.
