My sister works at Starbucks and its insane how expensive it is. Even the workers are shocked too. Our orders are usually above $20-$30 which thankfully, we have a 50% discount and she gets free drinks and food sometimes. Heck after the discounts, I still think its expensive hahah.

And to think that there are MILLIONS of customers who have no discounts, and buy Starbucks daily... sheeeeeeesh......... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

If you work in an office and the office doesn't have good coffee provided, you don't always have good options.

Work from home and you can just make whatever you want whenever you want.
Or course I just talking coffee.

To me, especially when it comes to luxury items like Starbucks (which I do not drink to begin with, but...) it's as simple as:

If I can afford it, I will continue to buy it.

If it gets to a price I'm not willing to pay, I will stop buying it.

Simple example. Video Games.

I haven't bought a video game for more than $40 since Sega Genesis. I feel $60 is just too much for me, and I have the patience for the market to come to me.

I think bringing up awareness is a good start, and having a conversation with people around you about this.

Good thing I've never bought anything from Starbucks in my life.

People need to just stop. These assholes can't give themselves multi-million dollar raises if they have no customers.

As far as food goes, I'm to the point where I buy nothing unless it's on sale. And I don't do fast food.

I would just make my own coffee at this point haha. Thankfully I have Starbucks discounts and freebies from my sis.. for now...

Well to be fair guys this is kind of all our fault I mean during the covid lockdowns we were not going out and the money in our savings accounts was piling up. So now we have to make up for all that lost spending so we need to pay more. It is only fair guys CEOs deserve multiple cars and homes are yachts and they can't afford all that stuff with out our labor and sacrifice. So please guys go to Starbucks and pay ten bucks for whatever drink you get this isn't just about you stop being selfish.

Inflation just gives corporations something to point to when they were already planning on raising prices. Only the naive and dumb think otherwise

So now that we are this far in the thread.

The real solution is supposed to be, competition.

That is why it is important to break up monopolies and to break up collusion.

Starbucks, if you did not know, had bought up tons and tons of coffee shops to stifle competition.

There is many famous instances of starbucks across the street from each other. Why? Because instead of competing in a fair manner, they said, "nah, we will just buy you out."
