anyone else have this re-occuring issue? First of all, my history/cache is empty. There are no viruses/malware on any of my computers, yet for some weird reason a YouTube video will just randomly pause, even if its not on my current tab. I don't know what the solution is at this point. It's so infuriating, as I could be listening to a podcast and have to reopen the tab every so often to unpause the video.

Last night, I was watching something... don't remember what, but it happened 3 times in the span of 4 minutes. And its only been happening the past couple months.

If it's network problems, the "Experiencing interruptions?" dialog will pop up.

Update your adblocker filters and see if the problem persists.

Do you have any peripheral (keyboard, headphones, etc) that has a button other than Space Bar mapped to a pause function? That can trigger even if the player isn't in focus.

It happens to me on my PC, laptop, and phone.

I just got a new phone and its been happening a bit on there, but i just figured it was the new phone. However i have YouTube vanced and its been fine on there, its just when im watching links to the real youtube that this happens.

Oh my god, I thought that was my computer being shit.

literally have nothing pressed. Don't even have the tab open, its minimized while I'm working on something with OpenOffice, or I could be away from the computer entirely and it just stops.

Happens to me too. Between the pauses and ads I can't play and forget with YouTube anymore

It's been happening on one of the adult sites I sometimes visit. Not usual. Just pauses.

Apparently the problem is pretty widespread, and it's not just Youtube. Maybe a browser problem.

If it helps, I use Firefox, and I haven't had this problem at all. Nor does it happen on any of the official Youtube apps that I use.

Yeah it's been happening with me, not just on YouTube but videos on other sites as well. I think it's a Chrome issue. Both Mobile and Desktop.

This just started happening on my phone yesterday. I thought it was maybe the touchscreen wonking out. Haven't had it happen on my desktop.

Happens on my phone but I haven't had any issues on my laptop.

Happens to me on my phone but lots of times that's because somebody else at my job is connected to the Bluetooth

good to know I'm not alone.

I've noticed it on Chrome on my PC, but haven't noticed it on my phone's YouTube app. Might try some other browsers and see if the issue is isolated to Chrome (with AdBlock and other YouTube-specific extensions).

I get "video paused, continue watching?" a lot, but just when I am listening to music playlists in the background, so it is to be expected.
