Like, how big do you go? Do you even get a gift? Just flowers? How fancy of a restaurant do you aim for if the plan is to go out for Valentines Day?

God I hate this holiday. It always makes things so awkward. Guess I should try and get a reservation for somewhere nice >_>

Just get a rose and teddy bear. Those are fairly innocuous and honestly I've gotten non romantic friends gifts like that before.

Valentine's Day is perfect for a newer relationship. It's when you're at the 10+ year plus mark that neither party seems to care anymore LOL

Im married, and I absolutely love my wife. But I loathe valentines day. I love my wife and do things everyday of the year, I don't need 1 day dedicated for that.

I don't even know why it's an actually holiday. Never understood it.

It's a corporate holiday, just for money.

How new? This shouldn't be that big of a deal. Just go simple. Restaurant or cook something yourself. Flowers. And some gift that would be meaningful but not expensive.

No I'm serious. I can't date a girl who doesn't have at least one stuffed animal or squishmallow or whatever. I have 5 Rem (Re: Zero) plusses that are large enough to sit across my lap.

I never go big on Valentines Day. Go big on anniversaries.

Just get flowers and go to a nice restaurant for dinner where you both have to dress up

We matched on Bumble in October and started hanging out a ton pretty quickly. Were exclusively dating in November, and officially asked her out in December. She had previously been in a relationship for 13 years so I made sure to take things super slow and be respectful that the dating world was entirely new to her basically.

But thats what Im thinking. Nothing over the top. A nicer/more high end restaurant, flowers, and maybe chocolate. Last thing I wanna do is go way too big this early into things.

Yeah were supposed to hang out on Friday with a couple other coworkers for maybe like 4ish hours to play some board games and such. Im pretty sure its a set up because it was leaked that she had a crush on me and I said Im interested too, then out of the blue one of my other (married) coworkers wants to do this, and invites me and her.

Nah I think it would be slightly creepy/weird too but people I know IRL are telling me different. In fact one other coworker that knows about the situation even said that if the hangout didnt happen I should give her a valentine card thing on Monday as a way of asking her out, which I thought would make me look like a creep.

The crazy thing is almost every woman I have dated seems to want sex on a daily basis, including my current gf who seems to be insatiable. I think my sex drive is going down a little now.

Agreed. I also think that there used to be a big stigma in general against women being open about sex, but that landscape has definitely been shifting in our culture. A good thing for sure

I think only people with no social skills say that. Women probably think about sex more than men, they just arent talking about it every second and making it a big deal.

In general, I believe that women crave sex more once in a relationship. Like I think when women are single, they can keep their sex drive at like 20%, but once they are with someone, it skyrockets to 100%. Unless they get pissed at you and then it nosedives. Men, on the other hand, seem to have their sex drive at like 80% to 90% in perpetuity.

Obviously exceptions to this...
