It's not that conservatives are more fit. They are just more vain and want everyone to know. They do it for appearance rather than health. Everyone else just isn't out screaming about how much they bench or why Rogan is right about whatever dumb shit he said this time

While someone going to the gym is likely to be physically fit, or at least actively trying to be so, someone being physically fit does not mean that they go to the gym. Thus while the study about gym bros is related to being physically fit to say anything beyond the scope of the study is a bit silly.

Feels like part of it is that people who are accomplished from working out (or really many kinds goals), see themselves succeeding as proof anyone can do anything, and they extrapolate that mindset to other things. They lose a bit of humbleness.

They've gone through a journey in which their hard work was needed and they succeeded. So if people aren't successful in other things, they must be "soy boys" or whatever.

Obviously this is a generalization but I think it's some of it. So I don't think it's really about being conservative, but they are more willing to agree with more ideas that are about individualistic accomplishments, libertarianism, etc. And forgetting about the nuances involved in..well life

Conspiracy theory stuff just seems big in fitness circles. Partly because of how hard it is to find good research on various fitness type things, people tend to end up doing their own research into these things. And it ultimately leads to people hyping up different supplements and methods that can seem kinda fishy.

A lot of people take issue with any sort of self improvement.

Also, CE has a bunch of shut ins who would rather stereotype anyone who is into fitness than actually perform a moderate amount of exercise with any regularity.

But as far as the OPs assertion.

Brian Shaw has always come off like a super wholesome, humble, and thankful guy. I want to continue believing that. I don't watch all of his videos and I will continue watching the amount that I do. I will probably just plug my ears and close my eyes if I see anything like that.

Also for TC, do you follow Will Tennyson? I really like his YT channel and I've never gotten a political vibe off of him.

I follow lots of fitness people on YT, but I don't get right wing stuff recommended to me too much. I mean, I get Rogan stuff, but I wouldn't call him right wing more like adjacent/friendly to some right wing people. He is more of a moderate and anyone who calls him alt right is moreso revealing how far left they are.

I also follow way more theme park vloggers and roller coaster enthusiasts cause I'm more into that than fitness and they generally tend to lean left so the algorithm tends to feed me more left wing stuff.

So again for TC, do you follow stuff on YT beyond fitness channels that the algorithm could interpret as representative of your political leanings?
