$22/h and right now unlimited OT. So huge paychecks.

Nope. I'm an Stocking Ii Team Leader which is hourly. I'm in charge of unloading the Trucks. Basically, where careers go to die since it's the worst job in store. I made a huge mistake.

No reason to promote to salaried. It's not a pay raise and I'd have to give my soul to Walmart. No thanks. The only reason I don't live there is i'm hourly and legally they can not bother me at home. If I were salaried they'd be expecting me to be always available.

Yes and i'm actually considering doing the job hunt. I kinda feel this promotion to Team Lead was not a good choice. It's a real nightmare and I've already gotten in trouble over shit I can not control. And unloading Trucks is physically demanding. Specially on double truck days. They dont come on pallets. We have to physically get inside and put cases on the line to sort. And Walmart Trucks are huge and come daily sometimes two in 1 day.

Plus I've got Frozen/Dairy coming at random times; Grocery Truck;, etc It's a lot.

No probably not. There's zero reason too. Sales are super slow at night and shrink is way up. Most the theft occurs at night since there's never any AP at night or anyone watching cameras.

Yeah, I used to do trucks for Walmart as well, and that's accurate. I was the guy inside throwing stuff down the line one time, and an entire wall of poorly stacked boxes that had shifted in transport fell on me and hurt my leg.

The managers actually wanted me to finish my shift instead of going to get checked out.

No? Are you? A job is a job. Society says you have to be rich and make 6 figures or you've failed at life.

It's not that bad. But, yeah, throwing the Truck can be a workout specially when it's 4k+ pieces and it's boiling hot.

Sounds about right. One of my associates got hurt the other day when the dumbasses at DC put a bunch of heavy bleach on top of a poorly stacked wall.

Then a few months ago when I was a meat associate I was helping unload Frozen/Dairy and one of the poorly stacked juice pallets fell over almost ontop of me.

One of the many reasons 2nd shift Cap (Stockers) is one of the highest turnover positions. Worked at Walmart for 10+ years and I dont think I could do it every day.

I did a co-op experience in high school, where I worked stock at a local Zellers. It's the same thing. There are roller rails that get extended out into the back of the trailer. You get 1-2 people up in the back of the truck, grab the items individually, then roll them down to the receiver. They sort and stack them on pallets there. It's more labour intensive, but more efficient for floor space (stock rooms aren't typically that big).

Started on as cap team and did that for about 6 months until there was a opening on the morning cap team that used to pick all the batches and shit and put away overnights backstock.

Then i moved up the the team lead there, then produce manager, then started the OGP program as OGP manager. Then left for other jobs when it was obvious they were going to want me to be assistant manager of OGP. Way too many orders and not enough people. Now it seems like the whole store picks for OGP.

I've worked at walmart 3 separate times. Once overnight stocking grocery for a year, then overnight maintenance, and then 3 years of TLE

TLE was by far the best place in the store to be imo

I assume your store is also intelligent enough to schedule staff around how many trucks are arriving in a night.

After I worked at Wal-Mart, I changed to Sam's Club after moving closer to it, and after a few years made the terrible mistake of moving to the overnight stock team, and then to the receiving dock. There were only two people on the dock, and we weren't always there together.

They always, ALWAYS made sure to schedule us both on nights that we only had one or two trucks, and only one of us on nights that we had five or more. And then they'd get mad and write us up when we weren't able to unload all five trucks alone AND have time to go help stock on the floor. They couldn't understand how half the people + twice as much work = a hell of a lot more time.

I wound up quitting that job because the stress and abuse I had to put up with every night put me into a suicidal depression that was bad enough I ended up giving up my apartment and moving back home for my own safety.

You have to remember that people like that dude both simultaneously demand the service that the TC is providing and meltdown when things aren't stocked, but denigrate those that provide it. Most Americans tend to view retail and service industry folks as beneath them.
