I think the Stadia dying news was actually just Google shutting down their own development for the platform only

I wonder who was pushing so hard for it to release at the time that it did, missing a vast majority of promised features (many of which are still absent today). Was it Phil Harrison ruining yet another thing or was it someone higher up than him? If they had just kept working on it for longer I think they could have had a successful consumer product, because the tech actually works for all but the most timing-reliant games

Probably wanted to get the jump on the competition. Amazon Luna would be showing up not too long after Stadia came out.
