CoM has many flaws, but the story generally isn't one of them. Might be the "darkest" story Kingdom Hearts tried to tell.

The concept allows for both some really silly and really dramatic moments. The Disney worlds actually having stories that follow the theme of the overarching story is great. The infighting among Organization XIII is a highlight. And it introduces two great characters in Axel and Namine.

I like this game's story, but the Disney stuff feels pretty superfluous. Gets bonus points for being the only KH game I've played where Riku is a tolerable character.

Between story and gameplay this is probably my favorite of the first 3 KH games lmao

Think 358/2 Days beats it out in that regard. At least CoM has a bittersweet ending instead of an outright tragic one!

Well, I don't think tragic and dark are the same thing, although maybe dark isn't the right word for it either. I didn't want to say "mature" necessarily either, but something analogous to that.

I guess it benefits from coming out at a time when this series was not as mired in years of accumulated nonsense, but it's still Kingdom Hearts.

Haven't played it since 2005, so my memory is shaky, but I remember hating the Organization XIII parts. Hell, I hated the story in KH1, and CoM did nothing to win me over.

7.5/10. The best Kingdom Hearts story, for starters because it is actually about something and weaves its central theme in with the narrative.

I don't get the people who played several KH games, hating them all.

I only played one and two.

But the girlfriend wanted to play this one so she played it on the GameCube player while I watched and probably played Mercs or something.

So everyone involved lost in the end

Fine, enjoyable, fun, whatever you want to call it.

KH 1/2/CoM are fun despite the horrendous original cast and cheesy, convoluted storylines.

KH cast is good. Great even.

KH writing is not so good.

Noooo no no nooooooo. Sora/Kiari/Riku are insufferable. We're lucky to have FF and Disney characters to offset them.

When people say the KH cast, they mean Roxas, Axel, and Xion.
