Surprising to me, I think I'll have to go with Bambi. The background visuals are beautiful and the story has a lot of depth beyond what the cutesy character designs would suggest. If we're going with anything 2D, I'd have to go with The Lion King. I know that's a basic answer, but it's a great movie. The fight between Bambi and Ronno was more intense than anything that would have been allowed in Robin Hood. That's the problem with Disney adventure: they're in a perpetual state of holding back. Beauty and the Beast gets a good fight scene. The Lion King gets a good fight scene. Aladdin and Robin Hood actively pull their punches because they're "Disney adventure." They don't want to come across as too violent. Robin Hood is more nostalgic for me though and I have seen it more times than Bambi.
