not saying there aren't downsides, but 90% of them would come with any home ownership

but it's fantastic having a nice large living space right next to all the best bars and restaurants. i don't have to put up with the bullshit of a yard or any exterior maintenance. this place is so nice, every time i bring a girl over (the literal 1 block from the bar lol) their jaws drop to the floor. this place is so nice, several NBA players are my neighbors. and just to appease everyone, i got a good deal at 500k

I've been looking for a condo for moths but the ones in my area are way overpriced the housing market is really competitive.

my friend is also looking and yes it is. there's barely anything available, so anything that pops up gets scooped up super quick

I'm glad to hear it worked out for you. I wish I bought a house instead of a condo. I share walls with my neighbors. I thought suspicious characters wouldn't try to break into a condominium community where there are more eyes than a lone house. I thought wrong.

My first night here, someone opened a kitchen window from the outside, possibly with a crowbar, while I was asleep. They stole a PS2, a PS3, and a backpack full of miscellaneous, low value things. It was super creepy, because they could have killed me in my sleep.

i'm gonna say this, just for posterity. i am not rich. i'm only in the 80% bracket for my state. california is just a really expensive place and you have to make a certain bare minimum just to afford living here. i also have 3 engineering certificates so yes i have a good job...but i'm also not a manager and have no real responsibility at work
