Pharmacists across Canada are once again seeing thousands of canadians walking away or cancelling appointments after hearing they would be receiving MODERNA as their booster shot and not PFIZER as the country is saving those shots for young canadians whereas moderna has not been approved as of yet.

That is creating significant challenges once again as Omicron is ravaging the country with hospitals overwhelmed and thousands did the same thing last spring when they questioned the safety of Moderna or mixing vaccines during the rollout of second doses

Now they have less choice in the matter as public health units are receiving pfizer for younger people and there is greater supply of Moderna.

Those 18 and up will only be offered moderna at clinics. Jason Chomic, who opted to get Moderna despite getting Pfizer as both of his shots. He said he would have waited if it not for Omicron being so widespread

He said "I'm glad i got the booster but i'm still concerned on the long term side effects of mixing vaccines".

Despite public messaging that vaccine mixing is safe, they are still reluctant.

Over 80% of Canada's population is double vaxxed and Pfizer is still the top brand most canadians are willing to only get.

Even doctors are given mixed doses and wants to educate the public around pfizer vaccine and it's similar vaccine Moderna where research even shows that Moderna is more effective against Omicron than Pfizer

I got pfizer initially and a moderna booster because I heard it was better.

Jones was funnier lol but definitely the more immoral of the two (he is lucky to have dodged prison for his Sandy hook harassment) Very sad either of those two are taken serious by anyone.

I like moderna better because the side effects let me know that at least something is happening in my body.

Got my moderna booster this week, not much side effects this time though. My mom was sick for a whole week when she got the second shot of the first runthrough of moderna though.

Haven't most of the studies shown that Moderna is slightly better than P-fizer.

Huh. I'd heard that a Pfizer booster was better for Omicron, but if Moderna's actually the better one, works for me. I got Pfizer first and Moderna second, and I'm booked for a Moderna booster on the 14th because that was all they had available.

I actually prefer the Moderna over the Pfizer. The only side effect I had from Moderna was a couple days of arm pain, while the Pfizer shot knocked me out for about half a day (although the arm pain only lasted a day).

I had the opposite experience. My first shot (Pfizer) did almost nothing, second one (Moderna) kicked my ass and left me out of commission for most of day 2. Of course, that's the expected 1st shot/2nd shot experience, so it doesn't necessarily mean anything about either option. Far as I can tell, it's kind of a crap shoot, regardless of which shot you get. I'm expecting my Moderna booster to similarly incapacitate me, but only time will tell.
