Man I really need to get back into Witcher 3 after watching Season 2. I only got a few hours into it. It was so massive, I felt lost and quit.

I think if you can handle Skyrim, you can get into Witcher 3. I almost bailed on it myself because of the size, but i'm glad I stuck it out because it's a very cool experience. Even as much as I played, there's still a lot I need to do, same with Red Dead 2.

I really should give Witcher 2 / 3 a good college try. Coming right off skyrim, i couldn't get into the Witcher controls very easily. Bought a controller for it, helped a bit, but i felt the beginning of the games to be very slow. Too "open world" too soon.

The controls/combat are always a bit of a downside, but it's something that eventually goes unnoticed when you get a few dozen hours in. I'm usually fine playing eurojank games, so it wasn't too bad for me.

Reminder that the games will spoil the show eventually

But yeah, play em anyway. There's jank but you can also just go through the main story and do the biggest story side quests and you'll still get a huge chunk of the game

the sheer amount of content is sure to hook anyone in once they get to >15hrs.

I dunno i mean I'm sure it's awesome but I've never gotten into it.

I played 2 more than 3 and I want to like it but it never clicked for me. I played morrowind to death back in the day so I should like it but I haven't ever really gotten hooked on it.

Walter is simultaneously all of them apparently.

One thing Witcher does above most other games are graphics, without sacrificing gameplay. A lot of games that have A+ graphics play like a tech demo.

And on the note of graphics, I'm playing Halo 2 remastered, and the graphics are phenomenal, even for my low-end PC. Getting 90 FPS @ 1440p on medium settings.

I've been enjoying Infinite a lot more than I anticipated.

I was so looking forward to it, but it runs at about 20fps on my machine. And that's just at the menu.....

But Retro Halo is probably for the best, it's what i know. After about 3 hours of matches, i got my groove back and was keeping pace with my buddies.

Christian bale from machinist to batman is pretty good but post 27 and 33 are just a half hour apart.

What does going from one extreme to another do to the long-term health of your body?

I used to work with a bodybuilder/"mr olympia" dude who would get insanely huge and thick, but strong, then cut like mad and have an insane V-shaped torso with incredibly defined, huge muscles. He would then enter competitions, basically beauty pageants (i.e. no lifting) for really muscular people. He was not a healthy person -- either being a glutton with fat/sugar/carbs/protein, or, starving himself. like a 6 month shift, one and then the other.

I think that movie The Wrestler kind of hits on the long term effects of extreme use and abuse of your body over time, but I don't know about the months of starving yourself in between. It sounds like grounds to give yourself a heart attack, rapid and drastic weight loss can cause one, and a stroke if I remember that correctly. I'd think he's high risk for that if the diet change and weight is that extreme.

That guy i referenced, the coworker? He was 19 when he had a mild heart attack in the gym. This was during his "bulking" phase, where his diet consisted of 2 baconators per day and a shitload of various powders.

He probably coulda done better on the protein load, but he was a broke 19 year old, so he did that.

The Wrestler is an incredible movie. I still remember all the promos and watching Ric Flair balling over it.

Its a weird disease, like it isn't hereditary, but your chances of having it when one parent has it goes up significantly so I imagine with both having it causes your chances to go up even more

I mean, the quality of life can deteriorate to the point that you might as well die.

I'm going to stay positive and check with my doctor because I'd like to catch it as early as possible and take what steps I can to lessen its effects if I do have it.
