There was an argument for Jordan back in like 2012, but LeBron has eclipsed him in every way Take any team, put LeBron on it, and it'll make it to the finals. Lebron could make it to the finals every year because the East was pathetic for a decade (and also people underrate the talent Lebron had in those runs. The first Finals run is the only one where you could really say he made it with nobodies, and the East was particularly bad that year, as evidenced by the fact that the Spurs swept them with zero trouble) --- ... The optics are a lot different when players join you rather than when you join them. I don't care about the superteam argument either way, but it gets held against Lebron and Durant both.

It might be a bit hypocritical on my part but I think what Durant did is different from LeBron (and the Celtics Big 3-4) in that they basically put the team together and had to work out how it was going to actually, y'know, work and everyone saw them struggle with getting things to fit right.
Durant joined a 73-win team (that just beat him in the playoffs) so it wasn't ever a question of if the Warriors superteam would work... it already did! The Durant/Kyrie (and later, Harden) experiment with the Nets is what I'd say is the equivalent to what the LeBron/Wade/Bosh Heat were. I think with LeBron then you basically have to be arguing for his durability / length of time at his level of play. But I'm always wary of that being the main point when the competition played in a different era. Modern science and less physical play make it so hard to compare between the two. LeBron would still be awesome in the 80/90s but would he have this length of career / unprecedented durability in that era? Probably not.
