i recommend it to people all the time as a so bad its good game but its hard to find people who have already played it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuqrMYbtmdg
I have played it, and I still have my copy, and I think Vegy has also, but I could be mixing them up with another poster.

Fun game imo. Sadly the backup team was cooler than the main characters imo.

Let me try and think of something on a more mainstream system. Maybe Castle Quest on the the nes? Iggys Recking Balls is one I played a lot as a kid I forget existed. I had a shitty Frankenstein game on the SNES. That's thinking of things released in English.

played these

for me, I'll go with Tobari and the Night of the Curious Moon

I don't really post on this site any more but browse occasionally. I'll just post I've played this though. Desunoya is a quite unknown doujin dev.

Would definitely recommend for anyone who likes the idea of a puzzle platforming based around Mario and Kirby and doesn't mind hard levels requiring decent execution. It's basically whacking enemies with your staff to steal their abilities then using them to solve the platform puzzles. Nothing can be carried between levels, so everything you need for a level is in it. Pretty tough to 100%

I wish more of the Desunoya games were also available on Steam, but I've picked most of them up and enjoyed them a lot outside of the SRPG that never finished. I have all the ones on Steam but none of the others yet.

Reverse x Reverse was fun since it involves controlling two characters with different abilities at the same time.

Tobari 2 Dream Ocean is a huge improvement on the first game IMO. Way more approachable, some fixes to movement, and some quality of life features. Way easier to 100% too.

Then there's Tobari 2 Nightmare for the masochists that finished Tobari 2 and wanted something way harder and uses a lot more of the mechanics. I should get back to this sometime since I was on the final actual level of the extra world, but I haven't gotten past the first part of it yet. I do want to see this one to 100% too since it's just this level then the extra boss left for me.

Bravo Air Race (PS1).

I rented it from Blockbuster when I was a kid and enjoyed it, but for a long time the most I could remember about it was that you could unlock jets to race with, as opposed to the normal roster of propeller planes, and that one track featured a water fountain that you could fly through. Many years later, I finally researched the game and found out the name by finding a Youtube video that showed someone flying through the fountain, so I bought myself another copy online.
