After the mandate thing came out, many people were still trying to avoid the vaccine. So, people who were already on the way out didnt worry about it. But any who werent getting out who didnt want it decided to try to go for religious exemption

And they also say they have no problem leaving the military if they cant get exempt But are also mad they are treated differently Like not being able to go on TDYs, or anywhere overseas to a new base and shit like that

They also only trust doctors who agree with them. Any doctor who doesnt agree doesnt seem reliable to them But its whatever, I guess Just a little rant

It goes back and forth. The Manning is pretty crazy. The Air Force let a bunch of people get out early. But it was way too many, so they stopped. Then started again Its like a seesaw effect

Military personnel have to get so many freaking vaccines already anyway, I dont know why one more would make a difference for them.

Some of them are only as because its forced on them, apparently. Others are doing it for attention probably. Many will say its because of religion (by I dont believe them) And others will say its because they dont trust the science. And were really questioned the medical professionals about not like 6 weeks or so ago. It was pretty shitty It was like mainly 2 people

This has been my stance since a lot of the backlash started and they mentioned hospital staff objecting to mandates.

Aside from what it says about their knowledge of the field they're supposed to be part of, if someone has a much higher chance of suffering from/transmitting a virulent respiratory disease I sure as fuck don't want them treating me. Especially when I could be there for reasons that mean my own immune system is compromised in some way.

So much so that if they eventually do cave on this and walk back vaccination mandates for health care workers, I think it should also be automatically added to the list of patient's rights that any patient can categorically object to being treated or administered to by any staff that refuse to be vaccinated. Leave the front-facing work to people responsible enough to handle it, and the unvaccinated RNs can clean test tubes and bedpans in the background.

I'd be curious to see if their stance would change if leaving the military over refusal to be vaccinated was made a dishonorable discharge offense. A sort of "Fine, go, but enjoy forfeiting all of your veteran benefits" scenario.

It feels like a lot of people might jump on this as an excuse to get out the door mainly because they feel like they can piggyback off a hot-button issue and claim it's about "principles", because they know they won't face any real punitive blowback from it. But it might be a different story if they suddenly realized there are actually consequences to the choices and decisions you make in life.

Though to be honest, I feel like anyone who refuses to be vaccinated in general (assuming they don't have valid medical reasons to justify it) should potentially face some form of punitive response (even if that's just denial of certain benefits or services, rather than an actual fine). Providing incentives only goes so far, providing disincentives can go farther.

I mean, we already live in a world where people were fine with the government assessing tax penalties to anyone who couldn't be bothered to get health insurance (as a goad to encourage people to get health insurance), and I consider vaccination to be significantly more important than that. Let's see a "Vaccination Tax" get added to "offset the added economic burden of non-vaccination".

Depends. I remember hearing about the officers that gave up he retirement abo it a year or two away because he didnt want it. And he would have been getting a good amount of money to get it. Also, some places were really ducking over members not getting it, but people still pushed. They finally started changing it but still. That said, many of the people trying not to get it were at the hospital when I was (I needing my yearly hearing check), and were talking about trying to keep their benefits, and wondering if this would affect future chances at other government jobs. So, they might be the ones that flip if it would fuck their future. Yet many still seemed determined

This, too Many people trying to leave early, but cant. And this would be a way to get out easy But Im not sure many have a real plan after that. Literally everyone always say they do, but most actually dont
