Do you believe in ghosts and demon possessions?

Danielle Witt and Ben Rockey-Harris, a married Maryland couple thought they hit the daily double when they bought a very cheap house on the market which was their dream..only to find out the house was based off the movie THE EXORCIST!!

It was the same house where a Catholic Priest performed an exorcism on a teen boy, events inspirign the 1971 novel and 1973 hit film, The Exorcist

They stumbled upon a 3 bedroom last year that was going cheap at 377,000, more than 50K less than it's value when the previous buyers bailed out

They thought it was their lucky break only later to find out of the home's haunted history on an online search

Rockey-Harris said "Honestly, the first thing i thought was, oh, God, this is going to tank our resale value"

A 14 y/o boy was said to be possessed by a demon at the home in 1949 and a catholic priest being called in to conduct the rare exorcism ceremony.

Ministers witnessed furniture sliding across the floor and the teen yelling and cursing in Latin phrases "In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, i cast thee devil out"

They said however they are NOT afraid of the home's history noting they knew about the incident just not the actual ghosts and demons involved

Instead they are going to EMBRACE it on Halloween as Rockey-Harris said "I think i'm going to get a catholic priest Halloween costume this year and get an amplified speaker and have the exorcist soundtrack just playing on a loop"

Do you believe in Ghosts and Demons Possessions?

I don't believe in it, but I still wouldn't live there.

Also seems like the real estate agent should've disclosed that and they should have some sort of grounds to sue or annul the sale?

Also, fuck this disgusting inflated Fed Reserve enabled seller's market. $377K is "cheap" and "$50K less than previously listed" for a 50+ year old demon house that looks like it's 1600 sq. ft at most.

I want a house, damn it...

Well I consider demons to be more aggressive ghosts. Like the grudge and poltergeist etc would be demons in my book. But I mean still, I don't tempt the possibility of anything popping out at me or end up coming home with me to haunt me.

That definitely is spending is wisely. Why pay more for the same shit when you can pay less for the same shit? Seriously, you're trying so hard to make it seem like I'm poor, that it's funny. Apparently you think that everyone that makes good money uses dollar bills as toilet paper.

Huh, looks like you need go back to school and learn how to read. 50k less than the actual price of the house is way cheaper, and that's what I was referring to. If you thought I was saying I'd get it way cheaper than that, that's your fault for having shitty reading comprehension skills. Also, whenever you buy a house, you're supposed to try and negotiate to get it as cheap as possible, and that doesn't change if you make 50k, or make 500k. So the fact that you think negotiating for a better price on a house(which wasn't even what I was talking about) means someone is poor just shows how little you understand about money, and how little you make.

I mean I agree here. No reason to pay more for something if you can get the same thing cheaper. Also just because someone has money that doesn't mean they need to buy the most expensive stuff just because they can. That's not being cheap. That's just using common sense.

Yeah, way cheaper than the houses in the same neighborhood. This is such an easy concept, the fact that you can't understand this really shows why you make so little money and have no understanding of economics.

You didn't say or even imply that with your post. Nice goalpost moving though. The funniest part is if you just admitted to being cheap despite having lots of money, you could have kept your little gimmick going. I know a few people with big money irl and some cheap as heck. Actual millionaires that drive beat up cars and wear old clothes. It was not about that, but how funny it is to watch you squirm and desperately needing to be superior. As soon as you get ruffled: deflect, hurl insults, move goalposts. Typical troll. You did it all over that other topic too you fraud.

A few things.

People are dumb

Demons don't exist, never have. Same with ghosts

The only thing to worry about is as the guy said, the resale value, because people are dumb.

If you're a different religion, like Buddhist, the demons aren't there! Wow funny how that works

I would have rented the place. For cheap. If I had to. But really I can't blame them

I kind of get it. Our house was such a steal back in August 2020 we jumped on it immediately. We barely even looked at the place. No regrets but I totally empathize with impulse buying a house. We didn't spend anything extra at all beyond its actual value at that time, and property taxes are dirt cheap. A half acre I only pay $800 a month to cover everything, mortgage and utilities with an almost tiny house that is super manageable. 3.7 interest rate. Yes I am flexing. BUT....We totally forgot the place had pocket doors.

One year in and I've figured out their idiosyncrasies but for a while these pocket doors were the bane of my existence. They may as well be a haunting. They aren't going anywhere. The pocket doors are a whole story in itself. To sum it up: 6 months of stress trying to fix something 10 different ways and all it needed was wd40

Yes I know. This house was already on a cheap deal but he wanted a much cheaper one still. That's why I called him a cheapskate after all his boasting of having lots of money. He then deflected all over first saying he was talking about this house for 50k less (missing the fact that was the deal in the first place, but having the gall to tell me about reading comprehension), then switching to talking about another house entirely. Which still doesn't change the original fact of him being cheap. He's been all over the place scrambling whole topic.
