IMO, Lucid Motors is the most promising Tesla competitor. Their overall price range is a bit higher for the high-end vehicles, but they've reached an EPA range of over 500 miles on at least one of their models. Hopefully the existing charging infrastructure will allow for the vehicles to charge quickly, but we'll see.

I'm very concerned that mainstream brands will not be recognized for their electric vehicle and plug in hybrid offerings until their gasoline offerings get really small or no longer exist.

Everyone wants their Tesla and don't care about anything that's $10,000 less. Rivian, Lucid, etc aren't even on their radar.

Green on PLUG today after months of losing money. I still believe there's potential for the stock but I'd rather just sell it and buy something that I've had better returns with.

Does anyone here use TD? I am so stupid at this. What is the difference between a stop limit order and trailing stop $/%?

Is a stop limit order like, if the stock is 300 but drops to 250, sell at 250 and is a trailing stop like sell if stock drops x % or x $?

For example, what I want is if I have a $300 stock and it drops to $250 then I want it to sell. I want some safety nets on my stocks. Is that what the stop limit order is?

Stop limit = buy at this price or lower

Trailing stop limit = buy after the price rises a certain % of the lowest price since placing the order.

Yeah you basically got it. Stock A is at $300, you want to get out of the position if it goes to $250 or below. Stop limit is an open order that will sell at the price you set below the current value.

Trailing stop basically raises the stop limit automatically as the stock price increases. Stock A is at $300, you put a trailing stop for $50 below current price. Stock raises to $310, your stop limit now is at $260.

My threshold for EV stocks is when they're actually about to start delivering cars. Lucid is going to start delivering cars tomorrow, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I got into NIO last year for less than $10, but I didn't really go all in. Now it's been flat for many months.
