Poll of the Day > Amazon just freakin spoiled a show for me

So I always read the episode summaries for the next episode because they're always vague enough not to spoil anything. It's usually something like "Bob has to make a difficult decision", or "Bob discovers something that will change his life." But no, this time the description was basically "The family has to deal with the sudden death of Bob."

Like what the hell man. Who thought this was a good idea. I mean really. Someone deserves to get fired for this. How inconsiderate can you be. Like c'mon. Now I have to be extra careful when clicking episodes. Thanks Amazon.

In the day of cable, it wasnt too weird. They would show the episode name and synopsis when you were choosing the channel I do it, too. Like on NetFlix and Hulu

Did the actor die or just the character? It's not really a spoiler if the former. That's also a stupid thing to say someone should be fired over

ok but if you havent seen future episodes and you care about spoilers you shouldnt be reading the synopsis for future episodes

thats just acting dumb, if you do that youre gonna sometimes get stuff spoiled

For some shows, the death is a major plot point that's absurdly well-known. However, if the guy dies off-camera before the episode starts, that's also kinda hard to write a description around that.

It could be that the Bob doesn't die. Like Sunny has an episode called "The Gang Gets Whacked", but the gang actually doesn't get Whacked.

Except they should still give you the synopsis without spoilers. It was there so you could see what episode it was. Most just have the main plot without spoiling anything. Especially since you didnt always know if it was a new episode or not I think the person making the synopsis just fucked up in this case

Thats true. Also, depending on the show, they might not really be dead. That happened on a show. They had an episode where they were still dealing with the death of a character. But then the character was back later Somehow lived and such

Actor didn't die and it wasn't a fakeout death since they were buried.

Luckily it wasn't a main character. Just one of those secondary characters that wasn't likely to be sticking around for a long time anyway. But it's just a weird thing to spoil, because like I said, all the other episode descriptions are really vague. The only possible defense is that their death happens within the first five minutes of the episode. But still, it's a scummy thing to do I think.

Thats cool. I disagree, though. Sometimes, it says a little too much. But for the most part, it shouldnt spoil the whole thing Like the jug thing of the episode

N out too mention, as I said earlier, you may not know its a future episode. Like if you were watching on tv or something. Plus, its not a future episode, but the current one, technically

I never read descriptions for this very reason. 99% of the time extremely vague, 1% of the time spoiler city.

I was about to mention GoT.

Not sure if HBO did the same thing but Sky had an episode banner for the final ep of all the House symbols so the dragon, the wolf, the buck etc.

So on the banner they included a new one with a crown on it or something along those lines - the new symbol was the three eyed raven lmao

Reminds me of an episode of Chuck. One of the characters gets kidnapped in an episode, it ends with a cliffhanger implying he was killed. Seconds later the preview for the next episode showed him alive and well still being a captive.

You'd have to live under a rock for game of thrones not to have been spoiled for you by now. Spoilers are freaking everywhere for that show
