it's both, and neither are bad things
I mean, Burton just isn't very good at the job. His intonation is off, his timing is weird, and he sounds overly excited. For all that he's gone on about how his life has been leading up to this, he doesn't seem prepared. People can certainly appreciate him for the things he's done in the past, but I think it's clouding their judgment about him now.

My main complaint with pretty much every guest host is that they're all just too loud. Alex had that soothing, natural tone. Everyone sounds loud and robotic.

Aaron Rodgers was pretty mild-mannered IMO. Very soft-spoken which was honestly a little surprising for an NFL player.

Nobody has really topped Ken Jennings for me. A lot of them have been ok/decent. Surprised to see people liked Mike Richards. He was honestly one of the worst for me.

I would also like Ken to get it. I don't think he's a particularly great host but I feel like he's earned it after his dominant showing got people talking about Jeopardy in casual conversation.

Hosting ability aside he's done more for the show than any other guest host.

Like just the way Ken speaks and the way his voice sounds he comes across as an ass lol. Like it might not even be his fault but I just can't get passed it.

TBH, I kind of liked Oz as a host. Wouldn't want him to do it full-time, because he's Dr Oz, but I thought he did the job well enough.

I think I would go with Mike Richards or Ken Jennings so far. Aaron Rodgers was good, but it seems very unlikely he'd want to do it full-time. I was expecting LeVar Burton to be great, but he's probably one of the worst guest hosts, IMO.

LeVar Burton is by far the best of the hosts they'd had on the show (granted, I'm not sure I've seen a full LeVar episode though >_<), but he's too old.

Ken Jennings would be great. Blossom would be okay, but she still has acting so I doubt she'd be able to devote herself to the job.

Yeah, I had been saying years ago that AC would be a good replacement for Alex, but I was a bit underwhelmed by his stint.

I had barely missed an episode in 20+ years before Alex died. Now I have months and months of backlog on my DVR. It's really just not the same.

Shouldn't try to be. Whoever the new host is, it's going to be a new feeling, and they should embrace that and make it their own. Let Trebek's legacy thrive without trying to imitate it.

Perhaps it's because until he formally retires from the league, he's still an NFL quarterback, contract dispute or not. If he gets the full time Jeopardy gig and retires from the league, then I'll reasses what his primary vocation is.
