Day 1 watch, and I appreciated the .3 seconds of new footage in over a year without spoiling the overall reason to actually watch this movie in the first place (something family movies struggle with...giving away too much of the best scenes for the trailer and leaving the rest of the stuff in the movie to basically bridge all the best parts of the trailer together)

Heh, I'd forgotten this movie was a thing. Huge improvement over the first trailer, and it looks like they're not going to shy away from a horror / comedy mix. I'm fairly hyped now.

Still the same feeling as the last trailer. I think the tone looks too serious for Ghostbusters. They're making it out to be this grandiose nostalgic epic return akin to Star Wars, but...it's Ghostbusters.

That little Egon girl is already 50x more likable than all the 2016 ladies combined and that's enough for me to feel confident this will be excellent.

The second movie was basically just a retread of the first, so they had some throw away line about people forgetting so they could redo the whole nobody trusts/believes them thing. I have no intrest in this film. I would have loved a third Ghostbusters 20 years ago or even 10 but today? I don't see the point.

Not necessarily the kind of direct sequel I wanted, but I think it's the most reasonable one we can get at this point. If you really want a true "direct sequel" you should play the Ghostbusters game they released on Xbox 360 and PS3. Looks awesome. Just not sure how I feel about the kid focus, seems like a weird trend everyone's going towards. Also everything looked more or less fine until they deployed that weird ass seat and she was driving an RC ghost capture device down the road lmao wtf was that.

Part of what made Ghostbusters so charming was the fact that it was this ragtag group of losers, true believers, and con artists stumbling through something that was way above their pay grade. If they did adults again it might have been too tempting to try and recreate that magic, so taking the spirit of what they were and doing it for my kids perspective might just be exactly the secret formula to a good sequel. The fact that egon's granddaughter seems like a loser outcast kind of gives me hope that that's the direction they're going in. Granted, it's not like that dynamic hasn't been seen before in any number of properties like stranger things, it, or The Goonies, but at least in terms of being a Ghostbusters sequel it might end up being a perfect fit. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz. i think it's a good way to start a new franchise, like jurassic world (which i'm not a fan of but it did rejuvenate the JP IP). even if it's a focus on the kids, the fact that the tech is back can lead to more in the future.
