I have a Facebook account but I never post anything. All I use it for is to occasionally send messages to the handful of people on my friends list which is mostly family

I'm 40

I just assume they either have a very high profile job a social media presence would compromise, or they simply dont have many friends in real life.

Social media is such flimsy nonsense, and it amazes me that everyone's ok with putting all their info out their, willingly.

Anyone who wants to fuck with you can fuck with you even more easily this way, and your only safety is that you're not notable enough to be worth attention.

I'm 35 years old, have a wife and daughter, a few good friends. Oversee a department with 60 employees.

Zero social media beyond linked in and I never post on linked in. Come at me. Facebook, instagram, snapchat, etc. Poison to the mind.

I have a facebook I almost never post on, have it for my phone games, and twitter is just to enter gaming contests or to like, and support a franchise like RE giving points to link a facebook or twitter to the Resident Evil account.

Could not give a fuck less about social media, and the bullshit that comes with it.

I have one but I keep it completely separate from my real life. If anyone IRL asks me about it I just tell them I don't have one.

There are a lot more creeps who are on social media than who are off of it. There's nothing wrong with wanting privacy. It's actually a good thing. I think (hope) people are going to start realizing this as time goes on.

I'm one of those people, so meeting other like minded people is great. Gamefaqs is the closest I get to social media.

I have a Facebook, but I never go on it. I think the picture that's on my profile is from 2009. I don't have an Instagram and my Twitter account was created literally just to follow PS5 stock.

lmao, telling of what? I just don't care about constantly updating random people online about my day to day life. Whenever my ex and I would go somewhere, she was always taking pictures and updating her social media about how much fun she was having, instead of just enjoying the moment. It's just stupid to me.

When I was actively tattooing in a shop I was on social media every single day. I would post my art and chat with people every moment it seemed like. Then my dad died and I went into such a deep depression. The pressure of being ever-present to the world started eating at me and began to affect my work and mental well-being.

I made the active decision to stay off of social media and my mental state began to improve. Social media can be toxic, especially if you are dealing with mental stability and depression. Though I have friends that have told me that it has helped them get through depression and overcome anxiety.

It just simply isn't me anymore. I am far more comfortable posting to message boards where I have more control over my privacy.

Nope Im serious. Not being able to know anything about a guy youre about to go on a tinder date or blind date with is dangerous for women; a lack of social media presence has now become a red flag, especially if youre on the social dating apps and online dating.

I respect them more. Hell one of my closest friends said fuck it, and closed down all of his social media accounts.

This guy now lives without all that added pressure of comparing himself to others online as if that meant something, as well as the shitty toxicity. And he has tons of groups of friends.

plus one time I googled myself and I found a link to my Facebook on some random website which creeped me the fuck out.

I do have Twitter which is semi-active but literally the only thing I ever post is screenshots I take when playing video games.

I have no facebook, no twitter, no instagram, no snapchat. I have a phone and a phone number. The people I know can reach me there and I can reach them through theres. People that aren't even close enough to me to know my phone number have no business seeing my day to day life or need to know my shower thoughts, so I see no reason to broadcast it anyone other than the ones that I need or want to show it to, which I have the means to do without social media, i.e. if there's a pic or video I want to show my friends, I just text it to the recipient I have in mind.

Kinda different here since it's more anonymous. If gamefaqs started making you broadcast your real name I'd be done with it.
