So I signed up for classes in the fall semester (computer science). But a small part of my brain wants to cancel the classes so I can focus on my youtube, which is starting to do really well. Am I being an idiot? I would hate to follow the only chance I have as a content creator, but school is by far a more obtainable goal. I'm being an idiot.

Are you making money with YouTube? Im not sure I would give up other options unless there was some revenue coming in or a high chance of getting some. Comp Sci is a very useful degree and it leads to good jobs.

Not right now. To make money you have to have 10K subscribers I think? I currently have 300. On paper that's a low ass number, but 3 weeks ago I had about 80. And you're 100% correct, computer science is a very useful degree.

Oh, well that sounds about right? I really dont know the specifics of YouTubing but I do have a friend with a relatively large following? He does Yu-Gi-Oh stuff and has 385k subscribers.

Anyways, the degree or even some technical knowledge would probably be quite useful. I know people who got into all sorts of computer work by just self starting with a code camp or reading books.

Tbqh don't go to college just to go to college. It's an enormous waste of money. And also don't go to college expecting to get a nice job that pays well afterwards, because that's not as likely to happen as you'd think.
If you're looking to level up your qualifications for getting a job, you're way better off getting a technical certification.

Like, in my case, I went to college and got a bachelor's in political science and music. It cost me like $70,000 in loans, which I'm still paying off 10 years later.
Meanwhile, I spent like $1,200 for a pest control certification, and that's what I do for a living now lol.

Everyone is different obviously, so YMMV. but the one thing I would really strongly say, is only go to college if you have a dream job in mind that you definitely know you want to do, which requires a degree. if you really love it in computer science, then go for it. Otherwise, if you're just doing it, thinking you'll get a job from it, you may just end up in debt for nothing.

I 100% agree, nobody should go to college just to go, there should be some sort of plan. Unfortunately a lot of people do go to college just to go, or because they feel like they have to. "Oh I graduated high school, time to go to college now". With that said, I do enjoy web design and programming, which is why computer science is the field that I picked. Your example actually reminded me of the thread I made before, where you did offer some really good advice to me about looking into trade schools.

What's your situation, if you don't mind me asking? To answer your question, I don't have a valid excuse or anything but I took time from making videos to focus on other tasks like working out as well as taking this python class. It is seen as irresponsible sometimes to not upload videos if you have a fan base that is expecting a new episode at a certain time, but my viewership was extremely low so I didn't think I was inconveniencing anyone by not uploading. But now that I'm starting to see some success, this motivates me to make another video.

If there's no rush, might as well just try and see if the youtube thing works out. If it doesn't work out in 6 months, no big deal, just sign up for the comp sci class then.

I meant to say, thank you for chiming in. Honestly, it would be awesome if I could do content creation full time, similar to how ant wants to be a streamer (I think ant has what it takes). The web design and programming is my number two interest, and a really nice backup plan.

Nah, I didn't play his DK in bracket, just in friendlies. I won most games + beat his chrom in bracket but he leveled up last night. Diddy Kong is an actual problem though.

Just my luck. I dont like it.

KO punch always goes through shield. What was great was the aerial one that did nothing really. You shielded that one. The sound effect went off and it maybe added damage? Other than that, wet noodle.

ESAM tier list.

Honestly, agree with most of it. There's a couple of ESAM picks like Falco, Cloud and Sonic being way too low and Kazuya & Steve (and maybe Min Min) being too high, but overall pretty solid.

kazuya is probably too high but min min is extremely good and blows up a lot of the cast
kazuya seems too abusable by basically everyone above mid-tier and he has no results yet

sonic is underrated for sure but cloud is a lot weaker offline where up+b and up smash can actually b punished

pacman and zss being where they are is probably the hottest takes because they have the results to back up being super top tier (compared to shulk who's really inconsistent because kome always drowns in pools), but i do agree that pyra/mythra is not being exploited enough offstage so they look unstoppable at the moment

my opinion is torn on min min. she has the results right now to back up the placing, but i do think she's pretty gimmicky and people will figure her out. imo, i think her and steve are in this weird spot where they play so differently from every other character that people are still a bit unsure of the counterplay. or im bias because i play zss and dont have to worry about that stuff lol.

pac man is def top 10, imo and zss while having decent results in the US at locals/monthlies, isnt having the best major results, in japan at least. shky placed 25th at Kagaribi 4, and hasnt had the best results after that so i think the placement is solid.

I agree with Marss that Wario is still busted. The nerfs hurt a lot but he went from a probably top 3 character to around top 15. Makes me want to play him more now that he's not so unfair

Idk how good it is compared to other command grabs (besides Bowser's, definitely worse than that) but I like it. It's nice to have to catch people shielding on platforms and to punish your opponent after conditioning them with aerials
