I just want the oled for the land capability honestly. Unfortunately I haven't touched my switch since smashbtos came out. Played it for a month then never played it again. So I probably wont get the upgrade either lol just waiting on PS5's to come in stock in stores. Hopefully before god of ear gets released lol

It's a double edged sword because when Nintendo finally acts on ideas that people push they becomes exceedingly lazy.

Look at the HD remake trend. Everyone was clamoring for their favorite first party titles to be remade. Now we get shit like Mario 3-D All-Stars where Nintendo realizes taping 3 Romhacks together can sell for 60 bucks. They're like the Al Capone of the video game industry. Dumb as hell but able to milk money maliciously to no end once they finally catch on.

Same shit with the new Mario party. Nintendo finally acted on common sense with the upcoming Mario Party Superstars, but it took a decade and will lead to them repackaging and reselling more and more "classics" to sate the raging nostalgia boners of their fanbase for as little effort as possible.

Docks are probably sold separately so people can set up multiple ones in their home. If someone wants to watch tv in the living room it makes it easier to pack it up and get your switch going on a tv in another room without having to move furniture and unplug all your cables.

I never said there was no good reason to buy another dock. But stating there are so many reasons why people would buy a second switch without a dock, but still have use for the docking feature.

Nintendo has a lot of shitty business decisions that are not consumer friendly, but Im not sure what the issue is here. The Switch Lite is literally a Switch with less components and options, sold at a discount. Any consumer with half a brain knows about this going in. If you want the ability to dock, you get the regular version.

It seems like the equivalent of complaining that the original GBA does not have a back lit screen when the GBA SP is available.

I phrased that badly. Certainly the UI and online experience tends to be bad. The hardware might be underpowered.

They are good at making games simple, intuitive and fun though.

I sincerely don't understand how this qualifies as criticism. The Switch Lite is a budget SKU, aimed at households with multiple kids, achieved by omitting the Joycons and the dock. The regular Switch is perfectly serviceable and does what it intends to do.

Switch lite that can dock: targets those exact same handheld gamers. But get this rightalso gamers who already own a dock, have friends with docks. Or may be willing to give ol Nintendo some more of that stuff they call Moneyif one day they may plan to buy a dock.

First option creates an arbitrary divide in your market. Second doesnt. You see how thats better?

And then on top of this. Nintendo created a market of exclusively handheld users who have to buy an inferior product that can never dock. Then they went and made a better version of their more functional console that can dockbut literally all the benefits of this console are handheld based.

Baffling things that need to be explained.
