He was definitely going down a bad ideological path, but ascribing racist to him when he hasn't had any other issues since is a bit silly. Regardless of what he recanted and apologized for, him pushing white genocide rhetoric was a genuine fucking disgrace and I lost a lot of love and respect for him for doing that. That's something that sticks to you like napalm. And you hear people go "he apologized, he was duped by racist friends and he doesn't feel like that any more!" - but the same people who are batting for JonTron are the people who were trying to downplay what he said earlier. I also find it unlikely considering the way he shitposts on Twitter. Then you have his history of yelling slurs, there are three or four occasions during his stint on Game Grumps where he yells the n-word and they censor it with an elephant cry. So he's been comfortable throwing around slurs for years. JonTron might not be a racist any more - for all I know, he's gotten better and is trying to make amends. But him espousing white nationalist rhetoric was a serious breach of trust, it only served to highlight his previous racism, and that's hard to come back from. Whether he's a racist or not doesn't matter - whether he's apologized or not doesn't matter. I don't like him any more. I don't trust him. --- But I don't have to make this mistake, and I don't have to stay this way.
