That was very mediocre but I'm not the target for most of the games they showed

I'll probably pick up the Mario Party collection (only 5 boards? really?). Kazuya was pretty cool, didn't expect him at all

All the old Mario Parties have 6 maps and I'd want close to double that for a game that's a "best of" from the older ones.

Yeah, that was a bit disappointing for the announcement. At least the boards should theoretically not be as small as Super Mario Party's though.

Metroid Dread looks like overall an improvement over Samus Returns, which I still heavily enjoyed. People's issue with the counter-attack seems to have been fixed. You can do the counter move while running and don't even have to wait for an enemy to attack in order for it to work.

Yeah, I think it was moreso closer to the end of BotW's Expansion Pass. Aonuma said the sequel came to be when they were developing more DLC but the ideas kept coming for it to be considered an entirely new game.

Botw2 was announced E3 2019 so actually, later than I thought, I was thinking it was mid 2018

I'd also like to point out that while I understand that a lot of people aren't still playing smash brothers, the fact that they added a Tekken character into the game is pretty huge. Smash Brothers Ultimate is basically at this point a once-in-a-lifetime roster. Having ryu, cloud, terry, kazuya, mario, samus, bayonetta, etc in one game is something nobody could have ever imagined or predicted a decade ago.

We got Dry Ganon two years ago, almost to the day.

It's possible that they either did not start the sequel immediately following the first or that they had to scrap and restart production for whatever reason. Maybe a shakeup in the team.

Absolutely. It's one of the reasons Sakurai went so hard to get so many esoteric characters. He knows that even he won't have the chance to do this ever again.

Yeah but I was thinking more along the lines of "Breath of the Wild came out" then two years elapsed, then "BotW2 announced" and what was going on between then. I think most likely is that just that they really weren't far along at all in development at the time.
