2 min max, 1 min if your boring. No long stories. No disgusting details. Make it about them and your interactions with them as individuals and a couple. Include guests, those you know, in the fun stories if possible. Keep it light and about love. Laughter and joyful emotional tears are your goals. Highlight the bonds.

Generally, I'd say keep it around 3 or 4 minutes, but it depends on what you want to say. Mine was about 7 minutes long. Told one hell of a good story and got a lot of laughs. Several guests told me they loved it afterwards.

the best man's speech at the wedding I went to this past weekend was over 7 minutes long and it honestly kinda slogged. I want mine to be concise, just barely under 4 mins is what I am hoping for. Between 3:30 to 4 is the goal.

I think you have probably.. two and a half minutes before I stop paying attention. Start with a good joke or an awww moment leading into a medium joke. From there you do your speech, you make them laugh, then you make them cry, then you get outta there

Don't go past 2-3 minutes unless you know for sure that most of the people present are actually going to enjoy whatever story you're filling that time with.

Weddings are the perfect occasion for platitudes. Just say nice things, don't be an embarrassment, remember to ask for a toast, and sit down inside of 4 minutes.

If they don't have to intentionally pull you off the stage during the speech it's not long enough.
