I make my own, I'll add toppings sometimes but its usually minimal. I'll do scallions, maybe bacon.

Making a cheese sauce from a roux is the best way to do it.

But if I buy a boxed mac and cheese, I get the Velveeta Shells

I've done bread crumbs as a topping, but I usually instead mix in some frozen peas just a minute or two before serving

Frozen in general. I don't like tinned or boxed that much. I don't mind the quick meal ones in pots though.

Homemade is always best. I'm lazy though. :3

Cheese goo. I usually add some sauted onions and mushrooms with chunks of whatever meat happens to be leftover from the night before. Garlic too.

Not a fan but I buy a $4 package of pre-made Mac that tastes slightly better than normal Kraft Mac and cheese. Heat and serve is convenient but Ill get it once every 2 months because I prefer potatoes and anything with potatoes is super cheap anyways

KD. Add some cheese slices at the end.

I have chives growing on the balcony, but lately Ive been adding Filipino hotdogs (red) because the gf is from there and buys the things. Havent added the onion-flavoured plant-sticks yet.

The powdered stuff. I also add in tuna fish and peas.

My grandmother made it that way when I was little. She also added in hot-dogs and frequently put baked beans as a side. However mom refused to buy the better-quality dogs and I never realized it so I wondered why it tasted like crap (the cheap kind are basically pink goo in a tube) as a kid and stopped adding them.

both regular and deluxe kraft

stouffers occasionally

the walmart brand version of kraft deluxe is pretty decent, too. it takes better than most store brand versions, almost as good as krafts, and it's like half the price.

for the powdered version, every store brand is terrible. especially walmarts. off brand versions, like annies, or devour, or what have you, are usually pretty mediocre as well. though cracker barrels one, with the cheese sauce, is better than krafts imo.

velveeta can do die in a volcano for all i care. it tastes nasty as hell. the funny thing is that velveeta is made by kraft, too, so they just have two different versions of cheese sauce, with one being disgusting, for no reason. just get rid of velveeta, there's no point to it.
