He is running in a special election in the 6th congressional district to replace the late, Ron Wright who died of COVID-19 in February His debut ad shows him riding a bull and naming himself "Big Dan" Rodimer, named after House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi as he was seen wearing a cowboy hat and speaking in a gravelly voice sound remarkably different than his 2020 campaign ads He was trying to present a clean cut image as a former WWE personality turned politician where he said "The wrestling thing again? Let's cut the hype. I'm Dan Rodimer, i'm just a small businessman, a family man, living in the suburbs" while wearing a suit and tie. During the 2020 race, 2 911 calls with his now wife and his arrest were publicized leading to him putting an ad out depcting him as a polo shirt wearing family man He lost to Democrat, Susie Lee and he previously lost a nevada state senate race and lost that too. Now he's hoping 3rd time's a charm in the packed Texas special election whom Ted Cruz and Donald Trump encouraged him to run. In the ad he calls for making america texas great again and yells "3 dirtiest jobs in the world: Professional wrestling, politician and bull riding. Let's go boys. Texas has big problems, we need a big fighter to solve these problems. The communists in DC are ruining america. I know how to handle Nancy Pelosi and stop her bulls*. In fact, historically cowboy WAS used as a term for specific types of outlaws. I think you have cowboys mixed with up with cowhands. In 1881 in the area around Tombstone, "cowboys" was a pejorative term used to describe a rootless group of roughnecks, many from Texas, who rustled horses and sometimes engaged in other forms of lawbreaking. George Parson wrote in his diary, "A cowboy is a rustler at times, and a rustler is a synonym for desperado--bandit, outlaw, and horse thief."
