when I flush the toilet on the 2nd floor I hear a really loud flood of water in the ceiling of the 1st floor and some clanging/popping noises but is that indicative of a leak? I don't hear anything after the water leaves and I don't see anything in the ceiling :|

Lol I mean could it be dripping with each flush and *not* cause a massive stain like that?
Have seen what happens when a pipe just ... leaks (fuck that contractor) but don't know if a 99% intact pipe will cause the same damage upfront. --- FFXIV: Lucius Hexenseele (Brynhildr) | RS3: UltimaSuende . 99 WC/Fish/Cook/Fletch/Div/Mining/Smithing/Thieving/Crafting/RC https://letterboxd.com/BMovieBro/ ... Won't that increase the chances of mold growth that becomes a bigger pain in the ass to remove though? That's what I'm paranoid of :(

if the drain line is partially clogged or if the plumbing isn't vented you may hear gurgling noises. The water rushing sound could just be thin walls. If it were leaking you would likely see some damage, but you could always follow the plumbing down to a basement or crawl space and check for signs of leakage (wet pipes) there as well.
