Well, as I see it, the thing with Conservatism is that it is about, at its most basic, maintaining the status quo. At most, perhaps trying to reverse some progressive successes. Compared to Progressivism which seems to be about a constant pull to the left. And actual goals can change each generation. Yesteryear's progressives are today's moderates, and the moderates are today's conservatives.
