Played rise last year, finally got around to the trilogy.

im 25% in.

The puzzles seem much easier.

This is not the game for you, if nearly drowning stresses you out. There have been like 5 scenes already.

hanging enemies in trees is fucking lit, enjoying the stealth aspect

If you beat Tomb Raider 2, drowning scenes can't affect you.

Haven't played the game in a few years, but I liked some of the things they did, like improving exploration, adding little townships, adding more tombs -- sadly, they're still mostly tiny ones -- and going amongst populations in their garb to be accepted. (Too bad they didn't make it easier to switch costumes, so it only like an upgrade on paper.) Sadly, the storytelling didn't improve much and crafting still blows.

It's pretty bad dude. I played Rise on the hardest difficulty and the writing was bad but I at least kind of enjoyed the Gameplay. There are too many dumb control issues and twitch reaction moments to make it viable in Shadow. And the writing is even worse.

Action, story, Paititi, all suck. It's just repetitive and bland. I hope the next Tomb Raider goes back to the roots I want labyrinthian level design that makes you think and pulls you into the world, dangerous platforming, Lara to be badass again. Not this bullshit easy tombs, pointless collectibles scattered over the map and automated platforming nonsense.

Rise's story was really stupid. Like they're talking about eastern orthodox churches but act like Jesus and Christianity never existed ever. It was mind boggling

The game was free on ps plus so I got it. It feels a bit like an Uncharted game but... it's just not clicking with me.

I've tried several demos of this tomb raider series throughout the years and I just do not see the appeal.

For reference I only kinda like Uncharted, more the puzzle solving/exploring gorgeous jungle locales than I do the shooting which I hate. And the fact that I really am charmed by the characters like Nate, Elena and Sully. Without the hilarious near sociopathic one-liners of Drake, I don't think I'd bother with the series.

Yeah TR and uncharted are basically the same games.

My sister loved the first 2 of the reboot games. She got shadow during Xmas sale completed it and told me not to buy it even on sale when I asked her if its any good.

Shadow of the tomb raiders story is what held it back for me although rise wasn't much better it felt more complete with a better mystery. I enjoyed the puzzles in shadow though.

i couldn't deal with all the underater segments because of my phobia. it was fine in the reboot and rise because the former had no underwater segments, and rise was almost exclusively linear short and straight bits underwater, but when they threw underwater exporing and enemies in with shadow i had to stop.

Yeah I was thinking theres probably a lot of people who couldnt finish due to the underwater stuff.

I really liked the other two but Shadow just didn't grab me. Seems like they didn't add much to it and for some reason the environment just didn't do it for me. The flashback level though was a ton of fun. I would play a whole game of that.

There's additional challenge tombs that are attached to dlc quests. The quests themselves have combat, and they comprise like half or more of all the combat in the definitive version.

yep that was fun. Pretty cute how she narrates the whole time. Gotta be hard seeing your pops like that though...

Most of the dlc is in the back half of the game. There will be a little yellow star next to any dlc gear and quests, and often they appear after you leave the area. So when you finish a major story beat or move to a new area, check the map for new dlc quests. It's clearly marked.

Legit I think the game moves from like a 6 to a 7.5/8 if you add the dlc. A lot of the story and character development is n the dlc as well.

I believe the first dlc quest should have just opened with Abby back at the village. If not, then soon. But yeah, it'll unlock automatically. If you have a bunch of weapons from the start, you have the dlc.
