I don't think people realize what the removal of all diseases means for humanity. The removal of depression alone would be an enormous help and lead to better lives + more production from a significant portion of humanity. And so many crazy people would, well, not be crazy.

I've seen two people post the same 5 second google search of a BBC article.

I haven't received any other information that pertains to what would happen to a sentient society with the technology we have if viruses and diseases disappeared. I've seen information about what happens to animals, but not humans. And of course, most of it is theoretical that can't be backed up.

In other words you have no sources? And have you seen that video on bacteriophages here? Thats another source of why viruses are so important. You seem to be under the impression that all viruses are evil little organisms that will get you sick and/or kill you while completely ignoring the fact that they play a crucial role in keeping the world in balance.

Again, you're asking me to prove a negative. You do realize that's impossible right? I can't "prove" that something won't happen. The burden of proof is on you to prove it will happen.

If you had read the BBC article or watched the video you would see why a world without viruses wouldnt work.

And you keep mentioning how were constantly evolving and developing new technology. Are you suggesting that we skew this to say that we wait until we have sufficient substitutes for the many helpful viruses, THEN get rid of them? Then again, why would we ever want to do research into getting rid of things that keep this planet turning?

The money. My life and anyone I care about is instantly secure and I can foot any and all medical expenses needed.

At first I was thinking that there's a chance I'll feel guilty if someone I knew died of some sudden/uncurable sickness, but I kinda realized that I could probably help out in more circumstances if I just had hundreds of billions for whatever else they needed. Like if they burned in a fire, I could help fund them back to health, but curing all diseases wont do that.
