I don't think it would hurt the economy, I just think big business is obsessed with maximizing profits by having the cheapest labor and cheapest prices so that people would spend the most amount of money that they would at their business.

But I don't think it would hurt the economy, I just think that big business would rather cut the number of people employed down rather than increase the prices even just slightly.

So the way that big business would be so stubborn is what would be hurting the economy the most if a $15 minimum wage makes way.

What do you think?

That is all.

Id prefer they cut it back to $3 and give the difference to the billionaires doing all the work. 9-5 workers have had it too easy for too long and get all the rewards. It's time the billionaires got a bone tossed their way.

What about the multi-millionaires? They deserve just as much a slice of the pie

In aggregate, it doesn't matter.
However, the single mother with sick kids, and the guy who has to bum a ride to work, are going to be the first employees to be gone, replaced by someone in the long line behind them.

Like, it's another reason for UBI.
As CE's resident Ayn Rand asshole, my arguments against that are quite frankly evaporating.

I know the multi-millionaires are suffering right now, but it will trickle down. They'll be fine.

I think the ideal is no minimum wage with government regulation so everyone still gets paid fairly. Burt thats never going to happen so I think a minimum wage is fine.

More than doubling it nationwide has a lot of potential issues though. I think it should be increased to like $10 though, and increase regularly with inflation.

People saying it will hurt the economy I don't get, they care more about the economy than people being able to live? So what if food goes up a few cents, people think burgers will cost 50 dollars and fries 20 if we raise the wage to a living standard.
