About to start up Dorter 1. Let's see what kind of gear they have. If it's the same shit, we're going to level up a bit to see if we can farm for some better loot. I would have done that in the other fight, but well, fuck Re-raise, lol. I believe, if memory serves me correctly, they won't have Curse Rings once they bump up to the next Level tier.

So while I do that, I have a question for everyone here - Since I would like to be able to Steal things, do you think I should be able to turn off my party's AI at some point in order to take the time to Steal a few things? Like, I wouldn't be able to do anything with them, just make them "wait" in place and don't run up and kill a unit I'm trying to Steal from.

Or do you want me to just try to Steal as much shit as I can and wait for Chests and try to do it quickly before everyone dies?

Damn, Junkina died, right before the battle where everyone's stuck in that ruined house and would be Dance fodder. I blame that ninja who did jack for 20 turns, although there just isn't a lot of good HP-boosting equipment for her yet either. The other survivors should start being good enough to steamroll a bit to help weenies, though. It'd be nice to get everyone levelled properly before the windmill shed battle.

Also also very nice jump in HP there, suddenly the enemies are in the low to mid 200s while you still have people with like 60 HP lol

Its all about gear in this game, and I dont have any. At least I got the Wizard Robe in Dorter.

Like my entire 1st build was based on seeing how the AI would handle range+items among a 5 ally team. And I'm in there knifing :p with no items....

We don't have anything grind FOR. The higher our level, the harder the battles are going to be, and we don't need any AP. I only did the first couple to bump the gear above Cruse Ring so they don't all have f'n Auto-life, lol

I might have to see if I can get a Human encounter in a random, control everyone in the party, and get some better loot. I'll keep trying this, and I'll make your new character. But we're getting stomped out right now

Killing and bringing back a Level 1 unit. You gain more EXP if you target someone that's a higher level than you [attacking, curing, ect], and you get lower EXP if you target lower-level units. However, the JP is all the same - You get more JP in a class per action the higher it levels

Also, there is a thing called Spill-Over JP, in which everyone on your team gets a little JP whenever someone uses an action. If your Time Mage got some JP for casting Haste on a unit, everyone on your party that's alive will also get a little bit of Time Mage JP. So making everyone the same class will make it go quicker

I have a 12-hour save in which I have all of the Jobs unlocked on a Level 1 Ramza by using nothing but Spill-Over JP

Damn, the Sand Rat Cellar battle is filthy. Nameless Dance + Frog could help a little, but it's going to be tough to pull out. Would've had a good laugh if Algus had broken that ninja's weapons through mimickry, though. (I think it was bare-handed at the time...?)

Global frogging is the mighty equalizer. Should make it a little easier to do stealing. I don't remember anything in the Dorter fight that gave such amazing equipment (+90 HP stuff), but I did see a Blood Sword and stuff, so I guess anything'd help. No one got that treasure chest the high-up archer dropped either.

In the normal version of the game, the enemies only have marginally better equipment. The enemy here has WAY better stuff than you'd normally find in shops, so that's why it's smart to steal stuff early. (In some cases, stealing swords stops enemies from using their special skills, but that's not relevant yet.) Of course, stealing when there's a bunch of autobattling teammates going for the throat isn't that helpful, so it's all up to luck. :P

In War Of The Gods, yeah. The AI has access to all of the Items in the game. I don't know how it works, but it's somewhat based on what their level is. In the normal game, all the storyline battles [besides Monster Class units] are at a set level. All the ones in War of The Gods will be above your level, so they will have access to like Items you will not see for a while in the real game. I think I said this already, but do expect to see an Excalibur before the end of Chapter 2

Not at all, but I haven't played. My brother and his family couldn't get home the past few days because of all the ice on the road, so I've been spending time with them

This shit is hard. I'm going to have to re-think some things, lol. It's even pretty hard for me if I'm in control of everything. We simply just don't have the loot to match them.

So I'm either going to have to go back and see if I can get some stuff from Dorter or see if there are any Human units I can find in a random battle, and then farm that for some better gear. I could make 5 units just for Stealing, which would prevent the main crew from breaking the AI-Only rules, keeps their level low, and allows me to try and make a better team.

I'm all ears for suggestions. Like the video title says this is, "CE Plays. . ."

I rarely used AI when I'd play the normal FFT, but if you set it to the fleeing option (run like a rabbit?), don't the units go to the map's corners? If you can pare an enemy force down to one frogged enemy, that might leave Ramza time to steal all its good stuff.

If you do start over, I'd rather have you make Junkina instead of a gun-less Junk. I forgot how few weapons you have for some classes in the first chapter. I don't think spears are even available until the last couple missions (or is it chapter two?).

Frogging pays off again. I feel bad for that wizard who cast Haste 2, then got silenced and severely speed-broken. You can keep Item on Junkina if you want, unless you need another thief or something. Just get her something that boosts her HP 'cause she can die from a stiff breeze at this point.

BTW, I did lose 1 fight before this. I was doing well, even got the Blood Sword from the Archer [!], but that Archer was even crazier - it had Draw Out, which I forgot. I brought it back to life to try and steal from it again, and it got it's turn next and did Draw Out and killed a bunch of units, lol. I had that fight well in hand before that happened.

Yeah, it just rolled Equip Sword, so it got the Blood Sword. The one up on the roof, not the one that normally spawns without the bow on the smaller roof. That's why Draw Out wrecked me, everyone was up there, lol.

I need to find out how select certain time stamps and just upload those, because then I would have at least showed that for the lewls

I'll just go strait to it. No point in grinding. I tried to find the one Archer unit to see if I could farm the Archer for loot a bit, but I couldn't get it to show up. I don't know if I was just unlucky or WotG changed the random encounters.

I don't see much of a point in grinding. The higher level I get, the better the loot is going to be. Which would be okay if I can keep them off my ass enough like I did in Dorter, so we'll see.

I'm cooking right now, and then I'll dive head first into it. I need to re-read this topic as well, just to get all the units correct. Or at least, get on the road to the builds you all want, lol. I mean, I want a Jumping Priest too, but we've got to get our Spear

BTW, in the Dorter fight I didn't upload, one of the units had a fucking Katana because it got Equip Knife. I wanted that bad boy because I love Draw Out

PS - I've thought about trying to get one of these bastards to get Throw and make everyone have Catch, lol

Draw Out kicks ass, but since they're breakable, I don't see much point using it so early. I think it'll be late in chapter two before even the crappiest ones start being sold. Draw/Catching might be a little difficult to set up, but there's a rare ninja fight in chapter two (the one before the waterfall map, IIRC), so you never know. Steal enough weapons and stuff and it might work out.

No, I was just kidding about the Catch idea. It was just an idea to try and get some more Items if I need to think outside of the box. These are the things that keep me up at night, lol

BTW, a bit of self-promotion, I do have quit a bit of a run with a Solo Ramza on my YouTube as well. I haven't finished it, but I do still have the save. I need to go back and catch a few levels, though. I think I'm way under-leveled for a Solo run, but I would have to check again.
