  • Auto Potion was a good choices
  • How many times will a 70%+ Revive miss?
  • How many times will I forget to learn the skills?
  • How fucking strong was that Time Mage?! Double Hand, I get it, but holy shit, lol

Auto-Potion worked out pretty well that time. If we're going to keep getting 1-2 people with Math Skill, maybe try giving it to everyone with a lot of Hi-Potions. (Not sure if there's a limit to how many you can buy in this.)

And yeah, that time mage that was hitting three times harder than a knight...lmao.

Man, this is quite a stumbling block. We lasted pretty long this time, though. Shame we can't buy Holy Waters, though. (If Ramza got petrified, maybe that would fix Zombie when he's cured? I forget.)

I have so little damage output and they can mostly one-shot me with melee attacks. And since they have Math, and the AI help, they can Zombie and Cure me all day long. I could try that as well, but my human brain can't do the math I need, and MY AI is too dumb to do the good combos

I mean, seriously, how many fucking times is Delita going to wake up a sleeping mob with something like Throw Rock? I really wish this let me "learn" the skills on my Guest characters and not just have all the skills unlocked from the start. Then I could make them learn the Skills I want them do use, and not use fucking Throw Rock

Zombie and Auto-Potion is a real bitch, too, lol

We don't have the height or numbers advantage, so you might have to win by gaming the system. Like, having everyone with Sunken State, using the transparency (I don't think Math Skill hits them? Not sure.) to buff the team or speed-break the opponent, then attacking when the enemy can't mount a defense. Either that or gun right for Miluda, but I don't think we want to go through yet another human battle without getting any good drops/steals, especially on enemies that can have a Maximillian/Chantage/etc.

Is there an easy way to trigger Sunken State en masse that can be done quickly? Geomancy, maybe?

Yeah, if I wasn't going to try and Steal some items, I could have finished this already. I pretty much only do Solo runs in this game, so Assassination missions are pretty easy for me when you only have to kill one unit

I'm thinking about making Ramza my thief [Squire/Steal] since I can Yell and get my Speed up that way. I could try to simply just survive and boost Ramza up on his own with Accumulate and Yell, and just Sandbag the fight until get gets up. Maybe put Blade Grasp back on the Ninja and try to let the Knights keep trying to hit him and let them run around doing that? We still have a lot of options to explore, I'm just being stupid and trying the same thing over and over again.

It doesn't help that I never know which skills they're going to bring either, lol

Well, it'll be interesting to see if we can do this one without any casualties. Being able to self-trigger Sunken State could be the key, but if you wanna try an Accumulate/Yell blitz, maybe it'll work.

Oh, I'll do your suggestion next time. Are we talking about trying to Trigger them after I get Sing and Dance going? Geo should trigger Vanish like you said. If I'm just doing those two, I could trigger them with Throw Stone. I think you have low Brave, though, so getting it to Trigger might take a few attempts.

I keep thinking about Golem, but there is too much Magic in this fight.

Killing a couple of them quickly, the ones I don't really need some gear from, and keep them out of the fight. I can always bring them back to life and kill them again to re-set the Crystal timer. Just to give me some breathing room. But I don't know how to kill them quickly. Holy, Death, Flare, Demi. Wait, is that one Summon here? The demi one? That could help, but I think it might have got removed. Lich, right? Maybe not this fight, but latter in the game.

I also 100% forgot I had a gun until I went to Attack with the Chemist, lol. So using that might be good with Speed Break. Someone on here wanted a Gun anyways, I think. They're bringing Spears, so Jump is soon on the table. I fucking LOVE Jump

Yeah, the goal would be to get the Sing/Dance people transparent after acting to let them (hopefully) do their routines in peace. Then, it's just a matter of getting the other people transparent and just waiting until they're buffed -- or the opponent's speed bottoms out -- and pouncing on the opportunity. It'd be a long wait, probably, but this isn't a good map for miming, so...yeah. It'd be nice to work Ramza going around and curing with Auto-Potion/Golem or something, but with Zombie prowling, I'm not sure how all this would pan out. We especially don't want extra Math Skill, Draw Out, etc. stuff, so you might have to save scum until things are a little easier and hope it all works out.

Yeah, my first character was a gun oracle. If I'd known how devilish these fights would really be, I'd have picked something more practical, lol. That build seems to have tanked (although Yin-Yang + Dance is still lit).

I'm pretty excited, tbh. I mean, soon we're going to hit the Rarity limit for gear, so the only advantage they're going to have over us then is the double stats and maybe an extra skill or two. I mean, you've seen it too, right? How sometimes they use some crazy Monster Skill that I didn't even know they could do? I think one of them rolled "Shiva" in their Second Job slot, but that might have been the one I had to re-set after a few mins because I had to run and do something. No idea what that would have done, lol

Anyways, yeah, soon we will be at the rarity limit and it will be more of an even fight with us having Orlandu-tier items as well, and we don't have to worry too much about stealing shit

Since she keeps rolling Math Skill, it must be set in place for that. So I wonder what the other bosses are going to roll with. Just to be a bastard, maybe Wiegraf will have a fucking Excalibur and roll with Maintenance so we can't steal it

Yeah, I noticed you'd power-levelled a little to get money for Hi-Potions.

It was weird how some units were rolling monster attacks as their secondaries. One had Shiva in this series of fights, there were a few knights earlier that had that Bomb projectile, etc. I'd say it's bad, but being able to erase an entire secondary skillset for something like Shiva (which is still MP-limited, IIRC), isn't always a bad idea.

Kind of off-topic, but I just got back to my old save file of WotL and I'm just planning on beating the game as I've never beaten the final boss.

I find it really bizarre how recruiting Orlandeau is basically a cheat code. You'd imagine recruiting all the optional characters via sidequests would give you an edge in the main story, but Orlandeau is basically given to you and he is completely overpowered and totally unbalances the game, OHKO'ing every unit and hammering bosses. And once you've recruited him, it's not even as though he's a main character.

Well, I just beat it for the first time ever.

Last few battles were really strange. Had Orlandeau taking names and all my other units were basically useless. Then I didn't even get touched by the second iteration of the boss. It kept trying to hit my Monk with First Strike and it was over in two turns.

And wait...ending spoilers

We all died? Or didn't die? But Orran was later burned at the stake? And Delita killed Ovelia? What the hell was that ending?

Art. The Delita/Ovelia scene is absolutely amazing and helps wrap up the Delita arc.

As for everyone's fate:

- Ramza and Alma probably lived by virtue of Occam's Razor and the whole FMV. Yes, they should have died in underground hell imo but a) it's a final fantasy and b) them being ghosts or whatever is just extra and unsupported steps. Magic stones did some deus ex machina bullshit as the explosion blew them to safety.

- No other units are featured because there's a chance someone was booted or turned into a crystal so they needed to make the end work for literally any party

- Yeah, Olan died at the stake to keep the truth hidden. Balmafula was a bit strange because it was implied that she was killed in an early scene, but apparently was just beaten up or something.

Topic inspired me to go through WOTL, too. Up to Zirekile Falls or thereabouts. Is my memory super rusty or did they take away the ability to see what skills the opponents have learned? I think early on I could do that, but when I've been checking lately, it hasn't worked. Like, if I kill a unit and see if I want to rez them, I can get to the status page where it says they're under 'Dead' status, but can't continue past that.

Damn, that was a rough one to watch. A lot of times things went well, like frogging that knight twice in a row, and having all the Wizards miss unfrogging her, only for Sunken State to fail time and time again. Didn't Transparent actually expire at the end there and get the chemist killed? What a bummer, 'cause I think this was the one where everyone survived the longest.

I don't know what happened, tbh

Either they "fixed" it so when you so a Song or Dance it takes you out of Transparent like you did an action, and it didn't do that in the normal game, as I'm sure you know.

But I might have get hit by Poison and that might have knocked me out.

Yeah, it was a rough one, lol

Zombie also pierced Transparent, so maybe this strategy ain't all its cracked up to be. Not sure what else we can try besides just murdering Miluda with Flare/Holy, but that'd be pretty lame. The Windmill battle has a similar setup with plenty of chicks for possible Chantage/etc. action, though, plus that little corner where dancers can hide and no one (presumably) can get them. I'm curious if Wiegraf has Math Skill, too, because that would be a sad trend. :P

Didn't get the chance to play today. I did do two more attempts, but they were both fails, and I didn't upload them. Went with an all Wizard team with Summon to see if I could just clear everyone but Miluda, but she got Haste and was way too fast and would walk up and kill everyone mid-charge before they could even get their Short Charge Summons out. At least I think I had Short Charge, I can't remember, tbh.

Anyways, I did get close, but it was a fail. I think I could cheese the fight this way and just nuke her down, but I do want the gear. In order to survive this mod, I'm going to get the top-tier loot, and the quicker I get them, the better. Maybe this isn't the fight to do it, though?

I don't know. @TRC do you have any suggestions?

Good job getting that Robe of Lords. Miluda's fight was dicey, but Wiegraf's looks a lot easier, as long as you take/break his weapon early (hoping he doesn't role Maintenance again) and kill Boco quickly. I know monks will probably revive Boco, so maybe inflict Zombie on it with Math Skill?

Dancing in the corner, while sad in real life, works pretty well at the windmill. Thought for sure Junkina would be Earth Slashed, but nothing.

Nah, it could have easily won me the fight if you get a Blood Suck chain going. A Vampire unit will attack and infect the other enemies, and if the CT lines ups, we could have had a Blood Suck party and change them all into Vampires and won the fight, lol

And yeah, this fight seems far easier. I thought for a second that he was always going to have Maintenance like his sister always had Math Skill, and thought to myself, "Well, fuck, all of the Sword Art users are going to have Maintenance to prevent me from preventing them from using their Sword Skills," but that doesn't seem to be the case.

And we're already seeing Genji gear. Nice

I hope our units start with some amazing items starting Chapter 2. I wonder what Algus and Gaffy will bring, if anything.

But it's not about winning; it's about winning AND stealing swag. I guess we could try and see what random human battles are up in chapter two, but it's always good to get nice stuff immediately (presumably why you were speed-breaking Wiegraf). Can't pass up Maximillians and Genji stuff when they appear -- multiples of those would kick ass.

Curious to see how Zeakden goes. Algus had Auto-Potion and a crossbow in the original, but I'm sure that'll change somewhat. Hopefully Math Skill secondaries are up to RNG, 'cause this is a good map to stick a Dancer in back on.

I'd laugh if Gafgarion had generic trash, since the creators knew anyone doing this version was just going to strip his equipment anyway. I doubt they'd do him AND Agrias that dirty, but y'never know.
