Man, those monks are a nuisance. Even if one gets frogged, the other can cure it with Stigma Magic.

And they're hitting my units for like 90% of their health, from range, with a 80% hit rate

Maybe there'd be a chance if all the mimes didn't die immediately. They're kind of important, since Stigma Magic can't remove Stop.

I could make one of our units the Mime and give one of them a bit more HP, or at least maybe HP Restore or something since it tends to knock them down to crit. I'll try again once I get home from work

Thanks for keeping up with it

You could always go back to the Demi/Math Skill strategy and hope it works out. And be sure to give the ninja some weapons for the next battle, too! I think he can still equip knives, right?

Delita and Algus are higher level than us, right? Maybe I do need to grind a bit to match their levels. Im sure its taking the highest level until and basing the gear/stats in that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure enemy levels are almost always the highest levelled unit in your formation screen. If they're a level or two ahead, playing catch-up makes sense. Should be some opportunities to get some good gear on Mandalia Plains or Sweegy, too.

Just did a random battle and uploading it now.

I kind of want to do a Ramza and all Mime run now lol, lol. The issue with the Mimes is that they level too quickly. Even when they hit nothing they still gain f'n EXP. Anyways, you'll see if you watch. It's a boring fight, so don't bother if you don't want to, lol.

I'll do one more random latter to get everyone up to 11, which is where Algus is at, and then everyone should be at where they "should" be.

Speaking of which, and I'm bored while I wait for the video to upload, I'll tell you a bit of a story about War Of The Gods. When I originally played it it wasn't a mod at all, but it was a bunch of GameShark codes that made up what it kind of looks like today.

But the way they did it was that all the mobs in the game were double your highest level. So if Ramza was the highest unit at level 7 in Dorter 1, everyone there would be Level 14, and have access to all the Skills/Gear. There were no "God Units", so you could Invite them, which made it a bit easier to get a lot of good gear

However, there was one issue that made the game really fucking hard, and of course it's that fucking bastard Musty. Why is it always Musty that fucks things up? Anyways, because of how the GameShark codes were made it not only doubled the Mob's level, like I just told you about, but it would also double the Guest's level as well. So if Ramza is at level 20 when you first meet Musty, Musty will also be Level 40 along with the doubled level mobs.

Okay, cool, right? NOPE! Because, okay, you've won that fight. Good job, you saved that bastard. Now you've got a Level 40 unit in your party, which you can't drop. You know what that means? Your next fight you're facing Level 80 mobs.

So yeah, that was fun times, lol

Here's the next video -

I tried to find the one Archer unit to see if I could farm the Archer for loot a bit, but I couldn't get it to show up. I don't know if I was just unlucky or WotG changed the random encounters.

I think that's the only human battle in the game, at Sweegy Woods.

Mandalia rolls Choco, Goblin and Red Panther. Sweegy rolls Black Goblin, Skeleton, Wisenkin, Bomb and a Human Monk, which I can't find

Oh yeah, I think I remember that Sweegy one. I'm curious if this version of the game erased that funny desert battle with the knight and bull demon. In fact, any battle where you get free allies to strip equipment from would be good. Do you know how potent Mediator invitation on this?

You can't Invite in this game, sadly. I guess I could be wrong, but I don't think I am. I know you can't get Monsters on your team. Well, you can get Chocobos because of Boco, but I don't know if he drops eggs or not

How much leeway are you giving yourself for builds? lol

- Rocking Def Up support from Oracle might be prudent. Pretty much everyone in this fight is physical; you're up against a lot of wave fist and earth slash. Maybe combo it with some slurry of damage split, protect, move hp up, life song, etc.

- Maybe some status? Stealing hearts might work, idk what status resistances the God classes have. And or Hail Mary Invite, or mimicing daravon, or Paralyze. Stigma magic can't cure Stop, and you have access to Hell Ivy....

- Teleport/fly/ignore height. The walls of the fort are valid locations and a lot of these enemies don't seem to have a lot of attacks that would be able to reach a crew, and then you toggle in a bunch of skills that don't have height restrictions and just rain down literal death.

Normally when we do Sand Rat Cellar, a guest (oftentimes) plugs that doorway to keep enemies inside, and maybe giving the others time to go around and complete the pincer attack. Against high-level or well-equipped units, though, our dudes get that pincer attack flipped back on themselves, forcing them into that upper corner where they just get killed by Draw Out and Monk abilities. Things are moving too fast to do the speed-breaking strategy in Dorter, so status effects might really be the way to go. I think our dudes could take the knights and archers if we can get rid of the monks quickly. It's hard to rely too much on RNG frog/stop, though I guess even Darkness/Sleep/Confusion are semi-useful if it can make a monk waste a turn doing curative stuff.

Have we tried using Golem to relieve some of the pressure?

Maybe try giving everyone Float to avoid Earth Slash and force monks to get in close(r), plus have all the mimes and dancer up on that hill. If even one monk can be screwed over early, the other might waste its turn helping it, giving the others time to pile on more status effects on the others further away. For the meat shields, maybe give Auto-Potion or something.

You could even try one dancer + five mimes to boost frogging chances, or everyone with Math Skill/Demi, even. Whatever happens, though, we're probably going to need to be more flexible with our chosen classes and skills. Kinda defeats the purpose of things, but I think getting over this stumbling block would be more helpful, even if it's just to unlock more buyables in the Igros/Gariland shop.

If you wanna go nuclear.

3-4 same speedy(better than the enemies)+armor+mp switch/move Priests+Math Demi with 3-2 mimes. (3/3 gives the most Demis per CT. Try to have the priest Raise1 for the dead mimes. Or try Chemist Calcs, to also have access to Pdowns)

Try to keep the calcs at the same CT, and go for CT maths.

You can also try adding some magic evade to allow the Demi to hit you a bit.

Or Rubber Boots + Bolt 2s. (your MA might be low tho)

Or try getting math Zombie on the enemies and using cure maths that hits your team too. (also pdowns for insta kills, if I remember right)

Once you start spamming math mime demis you can reload the fight until the RNG is scummed enough in your favor so you have a running start.

I was going to suggest Math Zombies earlier as a way of curtailing healing, but I think Chakra still works on undeads (???), so the monk problem wasn't immediately solved. Phoenix down kills could work, though.

You had a good idea using autobattle to learn the best Math Skill combo to use, but then Phil ran into the thick of things and died quickly -- oops. Maybe give Delita Item to rez someone on his turns, since he usually doesn't do anything useful anyway? We must have some spare Phoenix Downs to use.

Also, since most enemies have status blockers, maybe try Slow Dance from the outset to see if that works better.
