If you want it in cash specifically, you can change your core position to an FDIC deposit sweep where Fidelity will divide your money into accounts with various banks to try to get a half decent interest rate. I keep a cash management account with Fidelity so I have a reserve of funds that can be instantly transferred to my brokerage accounts or spent using a debit card, and that account will only keep your money in an FDIC sweep. I saw you mention that before. Can you give an example of how much you are paying on the margin with 1 transaction? Figure out how much I want to invest Put in an order for a little less than that Now in margin debt for the exact cost of the order Transfer money from bank account for that exact amount. I like doing it this way because I don't end with a few cents to a few dollars left over after the transaction. I try to keep my cash amount in etrade at 0 or 0.01.
