I can't understand how she could think this product is anything else. One look at the can and it explains everything. I can't believe she made a go fund me page that has wracked up 10 thousand dollars. And is now wanting to sue gorilla glue company. She should be paying them for trying to make them be at fault and disparaging a legitimate product

This was funny to begin with but the longer this goes on the more medical issues are going to develop. Hope it goes well for her.

Her follicles are probly sealed shut and her skin is probly badly irritated at the least.

That stuffs no joke. Which it says in warning on the can beneath the list of uses (none of which include hair obviously lol).

She will be lucky to not lose layers of skin, her hair is an extremely minor concern at this point.

She should just shave it at this point, I get that it isn't a solution, but I think she'll be hard pressed to salvage much of it either way. Getting as much hair out of the way as possible seems like it would make it a lot easier to give it a proper wash, for starters. It's more about skin than hair at this point.

I don't know about having THAT much glue for that long but I've gotten glue on my skin before and I feel like whatever doesn't wash out will eventually go away as you get new layers of skin. But her case sounds like bad news. She'll be lucky if the worst thing that happens is going bald.

There are plenty of things that can remove powerful adhesives. The problem is that they usually aren't great for your skin.

Also, things like acetone and Goo Gone can work for adhesives that haven't had time to set, but this does not appear to be such a case.

It is tough to give an accurate prognosis without knowing the exact product, how she used it, and the time and modifiers involved. Many of the solutions to problems like this involve a lot of skill and slow removal of layers. A lot of work (and likely cost) for something so easily avoidable.

Plus the risk of having them drip into her eyes/nose/mouth. They need a contraption where she can hang upside down and dip just the very top of her head into acetone

Actually the only legitimate glue that can be used in hair is elmers glue. Some people used it for a spiked up strong hold. I think most of their glue is water soluble and washes out with shampoo. Some people said it worked well and didn't leave any white residue or flakes. I never have used it even though i spike up my hair though

i remember hearing that the goth/scene kids who spiked their hair would mix elmers with eggs to get their hair to stay up.

This needs to be kept updated. I wanna know if she's going to be OK. The way she has her hair glued, seems like she's glued her hair to her scalp.

I imagine she would need to be 'scalped' to fix her situation. Or maybe the skin on her scalp is already dead from lack of oxygen.

Apparently they gave her acetone pads to slowly slough it off. Still likely did significant damage to her scalp. Puffy hair is the least of her hair problems now.

I really hope she can get this sorted in some modest manner... I mean, she's already brought attention to herself, but at least find a way to return to some normalcy.

That said, looking at the warnings, I don't see how you could make the jump from "don't use on skin" means it's fine for your hair, because what's your hair attached to? Exactly.

Also reminds me of a video where someone commented on how if you ever somehow get to look at an M18 Claymore mine, it has a warning on it to not eat contents, as it causes irritation and diarrhea. So that means some one somewhere busted open a claymore mine and ate the explosive compound.

If she read what it said on the front, or scanned the back of can, she shouldn't have then used it. So even If it mentioned not for hair, I doubt it would change anything.

It sucks that some people are so lazy or ignorant to understand a product. It's the same reason peanut butter labels it Contains Peanuts
