For me it was The Lord of The Rings Volume 1 for PC.



From the days of copy protection. In this case, it had most of the descriptive passages in the manual, and you would have to go to the right one.

Probably Pitfall 2 and Donkey Kong Jr. for Atari 2600. We got the NES shortly after and SMB and Castlevania 2 were my first games for the system.

Some atari 2600 game. Possibly ms pac man. I dont really remember my first time with a video game. But as young as like 6, I know we had an atari 2600 in the house. I've been interested in gaming pretty much as long as I can remember

I guess either The 7th Guest or A Link to the Past.

My parents got an NES for me when I was a toddler for some God-forsaken reason. There used to be (might still exist) home videos of 3 year old Alis playing Simons Quest.

Earliest memory I actually have thats video game related is my fourth birthday. My parents and aunt/uncle were together taking turns on the Sega Genesis they got me. I remember them kinda maybe sucking against the first Robotnik fight in Sonic 2.

...or at least I assume it was my fourth birthday. I also remember crying at Chuck E Cheese when Barney came out lol. And then my grandma tried to cheer me up with a bloody thumb toy she got from the prize corner >_>

SNES Street Fighter 2 at my cousin's house. My first choice was Ken. My nephew, who was a few years older than me, (yes, my nephew), was like "how did you do the flaming uppercut?" when I just did random movements.

That was the earliest game that made me love games, but I couldn't even beat half of area 1 as a child. (it was at a not quite local pizzeria and I had to get mom to drive me there so I could spend my spare change on it)

Age of Empires. I mostly watched my older siblings play games before it; it was the first one that really hooked me.

Pokemon Red got me *really* into games.

I'd played them for a number of years before that (mostly SNES/GEN/GB games, and a few on NES/SMS), but just casually, and much of the time at friends'/relatives' houses. I had a GEN and GB myself. In hindsight, as good as the Genesis was, the SNES games probably floated my boat more, particularly RPGs and Action/Adventure games. I liked anything with a detailed world to explore, hence Pokemon capturing my imagination.

I think the first game I remember playing was the 1983 arcade Star Wars with the 3D vector graphics.

There was NES in the house from as long as I can remember as well. Watching my brother play Zelda 1 and Dragon Warrior were particularly magical times. First games I got into were Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! and Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros / Duck Hunt was the first game I played when my brother got NES for his bday in 1989.
