This week, the community is grieving the loss of siblings Domynick and Danycka Milis who were killed on Interstate 95 near Daytona Beach after an armed carjacking suspect driving the wrong way slammed head-on into their vehicle. The siblings, known in Omro for their athletic achievements, were following their parents, who were in another vehicle, after visiting Daytona International Speedway for the Christmas lights exhibit. Domynick, 21, was behind the wheel of the Nissan Rogue and Danycka, 18, was in the front passenger seat. Their 13-year-old brother Drake and their 17-year-old cousin Kyley Larsen were also in the SUV; both suffered serious injuries and remain hospitalized.

Shortly after missing their exit on southbound I-95, the Rogue was struck by a Nissan Altima driven by the suspect of an armed carjacking that occurred in Orlando, according to law enforcement officials. Domynick, Danycka and the suspect were killed instantly. As of Thursday afternoon, police had not identified the 47-year-old suspect from Orlando, whose driver's license had been revoked since Jan. 14, 2000. It was shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday when the Flagler County Sheriff's Office learned a license plate reader had picked up on a reportedly stolen Altima near Matanzas Woods Parkway and Old Kings Road North, less than a mile from Matanzas High School, according to a Flagler sheriff's report.

That is so sad. You could be a good driver but all it takes another person driving the wrong way and your life is over.

And people out there really have the god damn nerve to bash police officers with this whole "police brutality" bullshit the USA has been running on. But every time I see it, my literal thought it, "why are they defending criminals?". Criminals are scum of the Earth, what do I give a damn if the cops are being rough with them. If you have to be rough to get a lunatic off the streets before he injures someone, we shouldn't be saying "fuck cops!" we should be saying "thank you".

I already know someone will make a dumbass comment to this and I will simply block them. Some of you respect criminals more than you do public safety/law/cops. Even though those same "abused" criminals by law enforcement, don't give a flying fuck about you and would kill you on sight. Makes sense... Take the cirminals side.

Not to derail this, but was reminded of a few years ago. I was driving down the highway and had one of those weird thoughts that spring forth. On how you don't really think about how we're all controlling multi-thousand pounds of materials at speed all within feet of each other and not a lot stops one from breaking this.

Ofcourse the irony is that not even an hour later on the way back down the same road someone decided to make a left turn on a red arrow because the through traffic light turned green, my first official car accident after well over 10 years of not, narrowly avoiding a head-on.

It really can just, poof, surprise. I guess they thought 2020 was over and couldn't get worse, can't even imagine. Also had a nephew start the year being involved in an explosion, but at least he's alive.

The problem is that this shouldn't been seen in black or white. A LOT of officers abuse their power and even brake the law to hurt or even kill potentially innocent people, especially minorities, and not just criminals. Police brutality is a serious issue here in the US and isn't bullshit. I know being a cop is not a easy job most of the time, but that's what they signed up for to get paid very well and have a multitude of benefits. I don't mind if cops have to get rough or even have to shoot and incapacitate a noncompliant person if that person is being considerably threatening or even attacking and has been clearly warned. I care about police and the law, but local police departments need to set higher entry standards to prevent hiring as many bigoted nutjob liabilities as they do and need to train their officers better so there will be less instances brutality and criminal activity within departments.

Fuck. Imagine being the parents in the car ahead watching in the rear vision as your children get fucking taken like that. Terrible.
