First was definitely better but it was still enjoyable enough. Probably worth a watch for Pedro Pascal alone.

Filming finished in 2018. When the movie was delayed from December 2019 to this summer, they were able to schedule in additional shooting for summer of 2019. The movie has been done for ages.

Did you not watch Game of Thrones? He was The Viper.

Early screenings had atrocious audience reactions so they did emergency 11th hour rewrites and shoots.

Some might call that "crunch time" but don't tell the idiotic journalists about it because how dare anyone be willing to work hard.
Some uninformed people that don't know what they're talking about might call it crunch time to fit their own ignorant agendas, but they'd be wrong. Every big budget Hollywood movie has plans for a period of rewrites and reshoots as part of the process from day one, and if a production tried to work people the way the video game industry does they have more guild union lawyers up their asses than they could count. Actors, directors, writers... they have very powerful unions.

First movie is A+ and one of the all time great superhero movies, 1984 is just a radical feminist propaganda piece.
Imagine seeing a movie where a woman beating up a rapist is considered a bad thing and calling it radical feminist propaganda.

Well Ulti is half right. You can work hard and do things of course BUT the reality is that most people don't have the skills or mental capacities or psychology to do really good.

I guess I dont see what part of the movie could be construed as radical feminist propaganda?

I could certainly see how it could be construed as bad though, because WW84 was shockingly terrible. I loved the first movie so part of this is probably just me being disappointed but man did I hate this one. It might be worse than BvS or Justice League for me tbqh.

If anything, it seems anti-feminist, since Wonder Woman becomes a lovestruck moron who basically has to be told by a man to make the right choice to save people. And then Cheetahs motivation is pretty much Im jealous of another girl so Im going to act irrationally and then literally turn into a cat.

Bringing this up, but there's also a weird bit concerning rape that seems... really weird and probably shouldn't be.

Wonder Woman wishes Steve Trevor back, but his soul enters someone else's body, so it's a bit of invasion, especially when she gets down and dirty with him, because it's literally someone else's body and they can't control it. It's a pretty dumb way to do this and just frankly confuses me, because none of the implications of this for this are addressed. It's screwed up and Wonder Woman deciding to say bye to Steve towards the end while ignoring they just stole some dude's life and they had every intention to keep it is just strange to say the least and it feels like no thought went into this script past a grade school level because they could have really delved into a lot of the implications of these wishes but chose to keep them at the most surface level possible.

They just can't let Patty Jenkins be involved with the screenplay again. She's a great director, but a writer she is not.

Imagine the movie from that dudes perspective.

Like the final scene shouldve been her smiling at that guy and saying hi but then they show the guy and hes completely disheveled and his hair is a mess and it looks like hes been crying and he just yells I dont know what the FUCK happened but I lost a week of my life and the doctors still dont know whats wrong with me.

His consciousness is just gone for a week and when he comes to he awakens in the middle of a literal riot that he cant even begin to understand the basis of. Then, within an hour of him coming to his senses, nuclear warheads are fired off and the world seems like itll be ending. He should have a mental breakdown he cannot ever recover from.

And like you said it makes no sense why they didnt just resurrect him without jamming him into another body. It isnt like the fact hes in another persons body means anything at all to the rest of the film. There is no scene where someone comes up to him and is like yo what the fuck Greg? Youve missed work for four straight days now and someone told me you were in Egypt?

It makes less than zero sense why they did it this way. Its legit terrifying if you spend more than a minute thinking about it at all.

Yeah, the implications of that creeped me out too. Imagine watching all those scenes with that guys real body and not having Chris Pine do everything.

Saying Patty Jenkins shouldnt write the screenplay again is going too far though. There were two other writers after all.

Someone came in here and tried accusing me of saying the movie was bad because a rapist gets his ass whipped, when no one was in here defending a rapist or saying that one doesnt deserve to get their ass beat.

But yeah sure Im the one who derailed lmao. Sure pal.
Now THAT is an actual straw man. I was responding to your accusation that it was radical feminist propaganda, your exact words, which you never explained.

I don't really think it's too far? She wasn't involved with the screenplay for the original if I'm remembering right, but this movie is a gigantic step down in the writing department when she got involved with that. The major change was her leaping into the writing part of it and honestly that was the weakest part of the movie.

I agree with all of this. I kept thinking about how he stole some poor guys body for the whole movie, and then at the end nothing happened with him at all. It was just odd.
