"Hey, Rorek," Raven says while looking through her luggage. "How do you think we should dress for the party?"

Its all good. I know how hard it can be writing and sometimes you're just drained. If you need to take some time off to reset definitely do so. The story is amazing and youve been putting in some amazing work :)

"We can keep it to semi-formal," you say. "It's just us, family and friends, and it's just my birthday. We aren't going to be that fancy."

"In that case..." Raven says as she looks at her dresses. "How about that black t-shirt dress and the Louis Vuitton heels. Remember? Like I wore for meeting the family the first time."

"Yes, I remember," you say. "I do like those."

"Right, because I'd be dressing up for you," Raven says with a smirk.

"Well, it is my birthday," you say.

While you rest on Raven's bed and she finds the dress and shoes, you grab the television remote and scroll through the cable guide. You settle on...

The news.

"In Hollywood entertainment news," a female news anchor says, "the highly anticipated film project, 'Gotham 365,' unfortunately had to be canceled a few days ago after the film crew ended up hostages of the entire Rogues Gallery of Gotham villains. But not all together, mind you. First, they were taken hostage by Harvey 'Two Face' Dent, then by Paula 'Poison Ivy' Irving, 'The Riddler' Edward Nigma, 'The Penguin' Oswald Cobblepot, and finally, The Joker and Harley Quinn.

"All the villains claimed they wanted Gotham to see the 'real' them, and it soon turned into a fight between the villains for who would get to be the 'star,' or 'stars' in the case of Joker and Harley, of the film. Naturally, Batman and Batgirl saved the camera crew, but after that experience, it's natural that they'd be reluctant to continue.

"When asked about what will happen to the footage they already have, director Claire Pavidis is sure there can be a way to salvage things, but the name and premise will have to be reworked. She promises that those who wanted to see this film will have their chance, but asks that they be patient.

"Critics of the project are of course saying, 'We told you so,' but others have come out in support of Pavidis and her crew for being 'the brave and the bold' filmmakers they are."

"Wow," Raven says. "I'm honestly surprised a project like that was given the green light."

"Does seem a bit risky," you say.

"In economic news, the cryptocurrency phenomenon known as 'TriCoin' has taken another huge leap in value. One single 'TriCoin' now equals over $66,000, overtaking even the original form of cryptocurrency, ButtCoin."

"How does that even work?" Raven asks. "Imaginary coins that are worth more than like, a house, which is real?"

"Well, all things have a value as deemed by society," you say. "Gold is only valuable to a community that thinks gold has value. In fact, even paper money works the same. We've all just agreed that one piece of paper has a higher value than another."

"But you can hold a dollar bill. You just claim you have a couple ButtCoins or TriCoins or whatever other coin."

"I suppose so," you say. "But the coins have codes to prove they're legitimate, the same way a credit card number is what proves the credit card is real. And if you know a legitimate credict card number, you can use it online without the physical card. Does that mean the coin code isn't good enough just because you don't have a physical coin to hold onto?"

Raven thinks, and perhaps gets stuck.

"TriCoin is still only acceptable by a relatively small number of vendors," the anchor continues. "Cryptocurrency as a whole is still not wholly accepted, but anywhere that accepts ButtCoin naturally accepts TriCoin.

"A few big names in the business world have been asked about the projections of TriCoin and other cryptocurrency, and if their businesses would join those that accept TriCoin. Oliver Queen has considered the option while Bruce Wayne has adamantly declined, preferring to stay with traditional valuables."

"At least Bruce Wayne agrees with me," Raven teases.

"Yes, yes," you say with a smirk.

"Another story in the economy is the debate of 'Super Insurance,'" the anchor continues. "For more on this, we go to Duke Begg. Duke?"

"Thank you, Mandy," Duke says. "For over a decade, property damage as a casualty of a supervillain attack or a battle of heroes and villains has been a major issue, and not every insurance company has felt compelled to pay out for what happens to a vehicle, place of business or even resedential area.

"The debate surrounds if the government should compel all companies to offer Super Insurance. The main counter to the issue is tied to location. Cities like Gotham and Metropolis are obviously the most active regions in America, and it would therefore be foolish for an insurance company not to offer Super Insurance.

"But then you look to perhaps a city like Toledo, Ohio, or Glendale, Arizona, or Albuquerque, New Mexico. There are no heroes that call these cities home, and report very low 'super crime' rates. But there is always a chance something can happen there. Just look at recent news coming out of Las Vegas."

You, Raven and Arella all end up with wide eyes.

"It was only a few days ago that a high speed chase happened not between police and a criminal, but between what were seemingly meta human villains and meta human superheroes. After investigations by the police, it was concluded that Raven of the Teen Titans was part of the pursuing team. Very little damage was done despite the chase going for several blocks, but it establishes a point that there are no boundaries on where villains can appear. If a major city were to suddenly become a target, what would happen to residents who didn't have Super Insurance because a local insurance company didn't provide it? Or even a smaller city or town, or even just as individuals."

"Hmm, that's a good point," you say.

"I think the companies should provide Super Insurance."

"Really?" Raven asks.

"Yes, really," you say. "Better safe than sorry. Villains can pop up anywhere, go anywhere, and then there are potential global crises. People who live in an area without coverage would be left out in the cold."

"Maybe, but why pay a premium if you never have to worry about it?" Raven asks.

"Well, if done right, it won't be an insane amount of money," you say. "The Super Insurance should be about covering your bases, the same as with having fire insurance, natural disasters, or man-made damage."

"So like, universal insurance," Raven says. "Similar to the argument over healthcare."

"Not quite," you say. "This isn't a thing where everyone in America now has this, whether they want it or not, and there is additional tax to pay every year. This is personal insurance, that is a personal choice. If someone wants, they can live without any kind of insurance. But when a person wants to insure themselves and their possessions, they should also have Super Insurance in case one day, they end up affected by a battle between, say... well, the Titans and your enemies."

"But isn't that something everyone should want? To be protected just in case?"

"Yes, but not everyone wants the same things as everyone else. America grants the right to bear arms, that is to say, legally own firearms, but that doesn't mean everyone in America wants to own a gun. But for those that do, legally of course, they have the right to do so."

"I feel like we're getting into really deep conversations for just your birthday," Raven says.

"Maybe," you chuckle.

As it looks, it may not make it through, as the majority sees it as government overreach in the economy. A company has the right to determine for itself what it should be liable for. We here at KDMB 6 Oregon encourage you to voice your opinions on our social media, as well as to your local representatives, before the vote."

"Thank you, Duke," Mandy says. "Up next, the search for a missing girl from Idaho expands into Washington and Oregon as its been almost a week since she first disappeared. We hear an update from Idaho authorities after the break."

The news camera zooms out a bit before the channel goes to commercial.

"Oh my," your sisters both say.

"They said she 'disappeared,' but not kidnapped..." you say. "She might have run away."

"That's always a possibility," Raven and Arella both say.

Your sisters look at both of them curiously.

"Oh, well," Raven says. "I'm technically a runaway."

"Oh," they say.

"So, where did you run away to?" Roselind asks.

"I don't think we ever got a straight answer on where Azarath is," Rebecca says.

"You didn't?" Raven says, a little nervous. "Huh."

"I think it's time we told them the truth," you say.

"The truth?" Rebecca says.

"About what?" Roselind asks.

"Well, both Azarath, and a bit more about Raven," you say.

Your sisters look over at Raven and Arella curiously.

"Well," Arella starts. "Azarath isn't a country on Earth. It's not on an alien planet somewhere, but in another interdimensional realm."

"Wow...!" Rebecca says in awe while Roselind gasps.

"So Raven found a way to run away from another dimension?" Roselind says.

"That must've taken a strong level of magic," Rebecca says.

"Well, yes, actually," Arella says. "But there's a reason Raven had the reserve at even a young age to pull off such a feat."

"You already know that my father was a demon," Raven says. "Remember? Ross' Demon Detector? But he wasn't just some low level creature that had his way with my mother and that was it. He was basically the most powerful, most evil demon possible. My power comes from how powerful he was, so it's why I'm capable of so much, like time stopping, phasing through walls, and just about everything Rorek has taught me."

"Whoa..." Rebecca says while Roselind gasps again.

"So, then," Rebecca continues. "Are you like... an heiress?"

"A demon heiress...?" Roselind says.

"No, no," Raven says, "I'm not anything like that. There's nothing I'm inheriting. There's no mansion in some hellscape with monster butlers for me, and I wouldn't want one if there was one."

"Right..." your sisters both say.

"We were talking about it before with tasting the magic," Roselind says. "I suppose Raven's father would have to be something powerful."

"Yeah," Rebecca says. "Very powerful..."

"Well, he's dead now so whatever," Raven says. "The point is, that's why there is no Azarath to find on a map or to explain where I came from."

"That's fair," Rebecca says.

"We can tell Mother and Father this later during dinner," Roselind says.

"Speaking of," you say, "I should let Mother know about our extra guests. Let her know to get something vegetarian for Beast Boy."

You get out your phone to call but she's already calling you.

"Oh, what timing," you say as you answer the phone. "I was going to call you."

"Well that is good timing," your mother chuckles. "So, I know you and the girls like pepperoni so we're getting the one pizza here that is named on the menu, 'Pepperoni.'"

"That makes sense," you say. "Oh, and I hope you don't mind, Raven and I invited our friends, the Titans. About eight or so, so the room won't be so empty but also as a dry run for the wedding reception."

"Oh well that's nice," she says.

"We'll need a vegetable pizza for Beast Boy," you say. "Something that's at least mushrooms, no meat toppings. And perhaps something with..."

"Bacon. Bacon's always good."

Hmm... Oh, yes, there is one that has bacon as a topping," she says. "Alright, so one large pepperoni, one large wood-fired mushroom and one large Alpine bacon."

"Yes, very good," you say. "Alright, see you in... Well, however long it is until dinner."

"Well these pizzas shouldn't take too long so perhaps in under an hour," she says. "I'll be sure to call when they're ready."

"Alright," you say. "See you then."

You hang up and Rebecca turns the volume back up on the news.

"... Vervaat need your help," Mandy says. "If you have seen Nora, please contact local authorities first, and leave it to them to bring Nora home."

"So Nora Vervaat is the missing girl, I guess," Raven says.

"It must be very scary for her family," Arella says. "I understood why Raven ran away, but I was still worried and afraid for her safety."

Raven's smile is very warm and soft hearing her mother say that.

You get a call on the Titan communicator and see it's Jinx.

"Hey~!" she says as you answer. "We're almost there!"

"Wow, that's a bit earlier than expected," you say. "There's still time to spare before dinner is ready, and the Titans from California still aren't here yet."

"We'll have to find a way to spend our time," Raven groans.

"There aren't a lot of options..." you say.

"There is a pool."

Raven frowns at you.

"You ladies can use it while I wait on our other guests," you say quickly.

"Well, not sure what Red Star will do then," Jinx says.

"G'nark isn't joining you all?" Raven asks.

"Wait, who is who?" you ask.

"Red Star is in charge of Titans North," Jinx says. "G'nark is a caveman who Raven and the others found in a sort of Land Time Forgot place under the North Pole. Needless to say, he still has a very hard time with technology. Though, he has taken a liking to the toaster. Hot, toasted bread is his favorite snack now."

"So he didn't want to go into the Titan North jet, then?" Raven says.

"No, and that means Kole stayed behind with him since he still gets separation anxiety," Jinx says. "He's kinda like a puppy in that way. You'll have to wait until later to meet them."

"So with just you, Argent and Red Star," Raven says, "that's really just seven guests total. Guess that's alright, three pizzas might still go pretty fast."

"We can always order more," you say. "Well, we'll be watching for you then. See you later."

You hang up the communicator and the ladies get their swimsuits ready again while you exit. You go outside and keep your eyes on the skies. The T-Copter arrives and finds space to land on the grassy field next to the parking lot.

"Hello there," you say as you walk over. "I'm Rorek."

"Hello," the barrel-chested young man says, with a noticeable Russian accent. "I am Red Star."

"Nice to meet you," you say. "Well, the ladies are already dressing for the pool, I'll help show you the way."

You lead the three members of Titans North inside and around the way to the rooms.

"Raven," you say as you knock on the door. "Titans North are here."

"Have them enter in through your room," Raven says.

"Alright," you say, only a little confused.

You go to your door, open it and let Jinx and Argent walk in.

"Oooh~, not bad," Jinx says as she looks around.

"Just get over here," Raven says from the connecting door.

You close the door and let the ladies have their time, but that does leave you alone with Red Star...

"Why is it only the ladies are using the pool?" he asks.

"Well..." you say.
