I do miss arcades. My dad was big into pinball so I pretty much grew up going to arcades.

Kind of? I mean I'd rather not pay a quarter, or even a dollar per go but it was nice going to like the pool hall and play some House of Dead or MvsC,

Favorite games would probably MvsC, Police Trainer, Virtual On, any one of the Deer Hunter games were cool, Tekken 2, probably some more that I can't think cause it was a long time ago when arcades were popular.

House of the Dead was always my go to game when I went to arcades

It's just not the same playing at home on a console

Big time

I don't live in an area with one of those "pay hourly or by the day" retro arcades that have 100's of machines right now, so every single arcade is traaaaash with ticket game bullshit

I couldn't pick my favorite game, because I like a lot of them :x

We still have a few here though I don't know if they're still popular with the youth. I'd assume so otherwise they'd all be shut. I was never into that stuff because I liked to save my little money to buy my own video games. So the other boys always went to the arcade after school while I went home.

Not really. I mean they were fun when I was a kid but then home gaming really started to eclipse the quality of arcade games.

My favorite game was probably Galaga. Simply because it was one of the only old school games I was a little bit good at. So I could spend a quarter and actually get through several levels. I also really like Sunset Riders.

light gun games with off-screen reload.

I think those created my habit of reloading in videogames whenever my clip isn't full

We all love the arcades. They were in your face fast entertainment. My 6 year old nephew saw my TMNT and Marvel Vs Capcom 1up cabs and his jumped out of his socket. sure the graphics are nowhere as good as todays home consoles but theres something about a arcade stick/button mashing with loud stereo and flashing graphics that suck anyone in

Sort of, we had arcades around here, but I only went to them once or twice a year as a kid, so it wasn't a thing that stuck out in my mind as "nostalgia". When I did go, loved TMNT, Simpsons, X-Men, Street Fighter 2, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Shinobi, and a bunch of others I can't remember off hand. My bowling alley had a few cabinetes that I played a lot, namely Final Fight, Tekken, and King of Monsters.

On the other hand, every game I just listed is so easy to pick up nowadays on modern systems that it is hard to say I miss them. I guess I miss the social aspects of arcades, but not much else.

There used to be an arcade at Disney World called Disney Quest that had a $15 daily admission but all the arcade games were on freeplay. It was awesome.

Nah. I never really went. I wanna buy that X-Men vs. SF Arcade1UP thing though, but I have spent way too much money on useless stuff this year to be even close to being able to justify the buy.

If i had money and no social problems I wouldn't mind opening an arcade restaurant.

One of my favourite childhood places had tabletop arcades so you could play, like, Pacman or 1942 while you wait for food and all the arcade money went to the servers.

Yes I do miss arcades and old school gaming in general. Back then you bought a game played it without having to download patches and/or purchase dlc and those times to me were the best gaming days. Now it's all about nickel and diming people.

My fav arcade games were: NBA Jam, MK, DK, Mad Dog McCree, Paperboy, Mario Bros, Outrun, and Zaxxon.
