I love Star Wars but only like 4-5 of the movies are actually good.

The original trilogy was awesome.

The prequels sucked.

The latest trilogy was OKAY.

Mandalorian is awesome.

Never really seen those cartoons.

The gems outweigh the stinkers.

It's something I (and I imagine many people here) are essentially committed to emotionally, so it doesn't matter how I feel about it. It's part of my childhood, it's like my dad except it didn't leave me. I can't just give up on it.

That said, holy FUCK rise of skywalker was not only bad, but it was lazy and bad, which actually feels like a new thing for Star Wars

Though the bad may outweigh the good, but I have enjoyed 2 cartoons, 4 movies and multiple video games so even though I dislike/dont care about more content there is enough to to keep me happy when looking at the franchise as a whole

The kotor games are great, some of the books are awesome and I loved the original clone wars show. The films have been more misses than hits, but I've always been more interested in the side projects anyway.

The sequels were a disaster, and Solo was mostly forgettable. I did like Rogue One and The Mandalorian is a lot of fun

Like even though its only a decade or so old I think that the MCU is waaay more enjoyable than Star Wars as a franchise. Its not even that the MCU movies are masterpieces or anything, but Star Wars would be such an incredible thing if they just consistently made good movies in the series

Apart from Rogue One and Clone Wars/Rebels, Disney has ruined it. I have not seen The Mandalorian yet, and it looks awesome, so I will not lump that in with "ruined".

I don't care how good the movies or things coming out could be, because they hype and fanbase make it all trash to me

I'll stick with the first movie, and maybe the two after it, but I have zero love for anything else starwars at this point

Its okay. I like most of the movies, and the clone wars cartoon but don't love any of them. They generally rate between a 4/10 and an 8/10 for me.

• Prequel Trilogy: I actually did like the prequel trilogy with Revenge of the Sith being my favorite Star Wars movie but the other two are among my lower favorites.
• Original Trilogy: Regarded as the best trilogy.
• Sequel Trilogy: Ehh... While I did like The Force Awakens, it's my least favorite trilogy.
• Spin-off movies: They are pretty forgettable to me.
• TV series: It's been a long time since I have last seen The Clone Wars (I'm way behind) and I haven't seen Rebels yet. But I absolutely love The Mandalorian Seasons 1 & 2. My favorite part of the Disney era so far.
• Games: I haven't played any Star Wars games of the Disney era yet but I loved the Star Wars games from the 2000s like the Jedi Knight, KOTOR, and The Force Unleashed series and I'm in the middle of replaying KOTOR on multiple save files. I also had Super Empire Strikes Back on SNES and was a mixed bag for me of fun and frustration, last time I remember playing that a long time ago.

Hot take but I think the original trilogy is just ok. Outside of the main 9 movies things are super hit and miss. Honestly for media tie in games, star wars is significantly above average but they aren't all winners. I haven't seen or played everything though.

Of the new stuff, everything that wasn't the sequels has been pretty good. Rogue One is the best of the new movies and Mando is great fun. Sequels are all over the place and generally bad.

OT + Rogue One were great. Some of the animated series seem good. Then there are a lot of great games.

However, TFA is almost as bad as TPM and TLJ is worse than either AotC or Revenge. Solo falls somewhere there. As does the shitty Gennedy whatever cartoon.

Based on the movies alone, it's close to 50/50 but the great is amazing. However, the franchise is bigger than the films, it's bigger than the shows, and it's even bigger than the games. I'm somewhere between like and love.

Do not forget the books, the once I have read so far from the current canon, really flesh out characters like Tarkin and Pryce into more than just one tone villains. Vader POVs also really got me to understand the character better, even if he is still all sorts of confusing.

I also just adore Thrawn and his supporting cast, Thrawn book 1 really got me to like Eli Vanto.

The original three movies are the only part of Star Wars worth watching.

Same with Indiana Jones.

Orignal 3 movies are amazing. Prequels are OK and don't totally ruin things. Episode 1 is kinda meh, but 2 and 3 are pretty good overall. 7-9 in some ways ruined the franchise. Not horrible movies, but kinda shit on old lore at same time, something even the prequls didn't do (even counting the midi-chlorians thing). Lets move away from those in future.

Rouge 1 was quite good, told an alright story that takes place right before the original 3 movies. Never saw or cared to see Solo but wouldn't be against it. It just never interested me much.

Animated shows - Seems pretty great, but never got around to watching them much. I've seen a little bit of Clone Wars and that was good, but not much else. Some day I'll watch 'em.
Games - Still as good as always really. Even the newest one was good, Squadrons. Helps it mostly follows original trilogy though.

After TLJ , I have no desire to watch / read anything to do with SW.

The only other similar rejections that come to mind is after the Benoit incident , my interest in wrestling evaporated. And after the 94 WS cancellation , the only MLB game I've gone to was a freebie.

Original 3 was okay. They were fantastic for their time, but looking at them from a modern perspective, they're firmly in the "okay" category.

Prequels are pretty good. Also looking back at them from a modern perspective, mind you. I just really like how they expanded the mythos, and made the universe feel like a lived-in place, rather than a small battle between an empire and rebels. (And I know the EU helped a lot with this too, but I mean in a more official sense).

The new trilogy is god-awful. Episode 7 was fine, but the next two were just dreadful, eliminating that sense of a large, lived-in galaxy in returning to the OT era.

The comics are generally really good, doubly so because some of them (like Aphra) show smaller stories that are separate from the main conflict.

The cartoons are utterly fantastic, and add so much life and flavor to each era they're a part of.

Haven't seen Mandalorian, but by all accounts it sounds fantastic.

So overall, I'm a big fan of Star Wars as a setting, though I think the movies are the weakest aspect of the entire franchise.

Overlooking that 2 are great, 2 are good, 2 are passable, etc, Star Wars isn't just "11 movies," it's also tv shows, videogames, card games, Lego, etc.
