The type of lockdowns done in so many countries is illegal according to our Constitution.

The Government is going as close as it can to one in many ways, even overstepping their boundaries now, and some interest/lobby groups are trying to take it to court to reverse the emergency laws which include alcohol selling stop after 22:00 and that the establishments must be closed at 22:30.

Today the PM announced that a maximum of 8 people can meet which is possibly illegal to implement. The leader of the largest party, the Conservatives, agree with the Government though which means that a majority in Riksdagen most likely will support the emergency laws. Our Government holds a minority of seats.

Truly a case of Necessity vs the Law.

My city is saying only 4 people max from any one household can go out to eat or whatever. How the fuck are establishments supposed to enforce that? It's so pathetic that since the federal government isn't supporting my city with financial support for the inevitable wave of unemployment (again) they're just beating around the bush and pseudo fully locking us down without really doing it.

In such cases, implement the new rules now, then once the crisis is over hold the government accountable and punish if necessary

the laws are fine as is, there just need to be exceptions for exceptional circumstances. a global pandemic is one such circumstance that exceptions should be allowed

A constitution that doesn't allow for flexibility in times of crisis is a poor constitution. That being said, in comparison, the US constitution actually does allow for flexibility in case of a pandemic and such, but it's really the govt and the people pushing back on very logical rules for disaster prevention

Night clubs have been closed since March since that can be done under ordningslagen (the law of public order, Id guess is an accurate translation).

Bars and restaurants are the targets of these special laws with closing at 22:30 and alcohol selling stop at 22:00.

At least the restaurant sector is getting financial aid here

There are a load of exceptions if we were to find ourselves at war or during a natural disaster, but none during pandemics (which is a short coming the politicians are working on now). Changes to the Constitution require two votes in Riksdagen where a majority votes for the change both times and a national election so the public has a say on the matter must be held between the two votes however.

Worse. They STILL refuse to even recommend mask wearing. It's ridiculous how stubborn they are.

and yet if a non-politician broke the law out of perceived necessity they'd rot in jail all the same.

Way to peddle lies. At least if you refer to the topics I know about. The topics in question stated that Sweden was more or less doing worst of all countries and I, and some others, argued that we did not do the worst. The reality of what happened is in other words the opposite of what you claim. We have sunk from #7 to #23 regarding deaths per capita and from #18 to #45 regarding cases per capita since Spring/early Summer. So lets have a truthful debate because there are legitimate things to criticize without having to resort to lies but criticizing real things require you to actually know stuff about our situation.

If you refer to the economic discussion the US user Antifar started about Sweden then the reality is that our GDP has shrunk far less than the EU-average as well as less than the USA:s and the UK:s economies.

I sometimes say seventeen and sometimes five but we tell the time by saying Klockan r... = The clock is... (1, 9, 17, 23)
