I said it to my best friend years ago and things got really awkward. He pretty much didn't speak to me after that and we lost contact since. I didn't really put 2 and 2 together until recently but I think he got freaked out by me expressing my emotions like that since we're both very masculine people.

Then I turn around and girls say it to people all the time like it's a tick.

What's the deal? Love doesn't mean you want to fuck someone. It's not a sexual thing by default. You love your mom don't you?

I feel like it's unhealthy.

I would feel odd if a dude said they love me. Women completely drain all meaning from the phrase because they use it too much imo.
